Project nature: Concept
Year: 2020
A documentation on the conceptual architectural project of an underground healing centre situated in Kowloon, Hong Kong for the marginalized people living in the district. The architecture is a cross-reference to the Maggie's Centre by Charles Jencks, Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino and The Atlas by Dung Kai-Cheung. The process is looking into the idea of 'VEIL' and 'SUBTOPIA' (underground city). The project is emphasizing the importance of mental health under the phenomenon of the ever-changing society. And, also it is a critical reflection on the living reality that cramped with falsehood promises and psychological pressure that is aliening people into working machine. Only when one escaped and veiled into the earth, one could unveil and rediscover themselves.
