Audio-Visual Exercises For Babies 0-1 Month Old

Theses exercises have been well-researched and can be done by either parents at home. The exercises facilitates bonding. The exercises take no more than 15 minutes. Do the exercises once a day or at least on alternate days After you read through these instructions, watch the video.

During this period, effective audio-visual stimulation can promote cerebral development thus enhancing perception development.

Points to Remember • Attention span of a newborn is short and his ability for audio-visual regulation is immature. • Newborns like to look at faces, red ball or black and white contrast. • Newborns can only see a distance of no greater than 20cm. • Talk quietly to your baby at all times while doing the exercises.

Exercise One – Visual training Visit My Blog For Videos • Warm, quiet environment. • Hold baby with one hand, palm supporting back of neck and head. • Hold a soft red felt ball about 20cm from baby, start from center, rotate the ball in your hand until baby’s gazing at it, then slowly move the ball to one side, then the other. Make sure the baby’s gaze follows the ball. • To start off, do this for about 20 seconds, then gradually build up to 1 to 2 minutes. • Watch baby’s reaction. Stop if the baby lost interest.

Stop if the baby lost interest.

Warm, quiet environment. Hold baby with both hands, palms supporting back and head. Face the baby at a distance of around 20cm. Starting from the center, call to your baby and at the same time move your head 90° to attract his attention. Move your head first to the left side and then to the right slowly. Your facial expression should reflect your love and your voice soft and tender. Exercise for 1-2 minutes. Watch baby’s reaction. Stop if the baby lost interest.
