wo men have been arrested after a month-long robbery spree targeting banks and a petrol station in South and East Auckland. A 35-year-old man was arrested yesterday and appeared at the Manukau District Court facing six robbery charges, and one of aggravated robbery, for various
locations including last Friday’s incidents at Highland Park and Botany Town Centre, and the ASB in Botany Junction on August 31. The Paper Plus in Highland Park Shopping Centre and NZ Post shop in Botany Town Centre both offer Kiwibank facilities and were closed on Friday afternoon as a result. intent to rob and aggravated burglary at the Mobil station in East Tamaki more than two weeks ago. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in court on October 13. Counties Manukau Police’s detective inspector Dave Lynch says police have high detection rates for this type of crime and, if convicted, the pair is likely to face a substantial time behind bars.
