2015 Chamber Annual Report — The Newnan Times-Herald — 13

ANNUAL AWARDS VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

Maggie McSweeney, of Cardinal Waste Solutions, has been an active member of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber for the past three years and enjoys the opportunities to connect with different individuals and businesses through Chamber events. She currently serves as member of the Diplomats committee and works hard to make sure members of the Chamber are having their needs met by the organization. However, Maggie does much more for the Chamber than that and is described as someone always willing to lend a helping hand in any situation. She has been described as our “go to” volunteer because we know we can count on her to be there whenever we need her and she will go above and beyond the call of duty. Chamber members describe Maggie as someone who is always smiling and is just delightful to be around.

CHAIRMAN’S AWARD

Mark Whitlock is the CEO of Central Educational Center, a charter school that connects local businesses represented by the Chamber with the Coweta County School System and West Georgia Technical College. He also serves as the Director of Public Policy for the Coweta County School System. Mark has been an active member of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber since 2003 and loves the connectivity the Chamber brings to businesses, individuals and organizations to the community. Mark is described as a “go to” person, who is always calm in any situation and someone the Chamber board can rely on to keep them grounded. He worked hand in hand with Chamber President and CEO Candace Boothby on the Chamber of the Year application and served on the interview panel which ultimately led to the recognition of National Chamber of the Year. Our achievements are a direct result in many ways from his contributions to the organization.
