FRANCHISE OPPORTUNITIES WORKSHOP

#B E H I N D THE

THRIVE

One of the most wonderful traditions of the holiday season is picking the perfect tree to decorate together as a family. 4 E’s Christmas Tree Farm in Mt. Zion is a familyowned business run by the Evans family and has been around for generations. Though the land was purchased in 1958, it didn’t become a Christmas tree farm until 1965 when people began asking about purchasing the trees off it. Each year you’d find all four of the Evans sons (where 4 E’s gets its name) working the family-run farm, and the money they made from tree sales paid for all of them to go to college. Today they carry about 15 species of evergreens and sell about 5,000 trees a year. They also offer balled and burlap (dug) trees so you can plant your tree in your yard after the holidays. Plus, 4 E’s offers a variety of real greenery including wreaths, swags, garland and roping and has a delightful Christmas shop. Stop in at 4 E's for the quintessential family Christmas experience, then consult THRIVE’s annual Gift Guide to find the perfect gifts for one and all! Merry Christmas,

PopLocal

I think I was born with this head filled with dreams and ideas. My lifelong quest has been to immerse myself in art, music, and the company of likeminded people. Enter two such inspiring friends. One lunch with Shani Goss and Jenny Cowgill later, and the idea began hatching. I have never been able to talk my friends into an idea so easily. This was definitely NOT a “hold my beer” moment. We’re making stuff happen. Good stuff. On Friday, December 9th, from 5-9pm and Saturday, December 10th, from 10-2, we present PopLocal, Decatur’s first hip, handmade pop-up market in the former Haines & Essicks, corner of E. William & Main Streets. With over 15 vendors, there’s something for everyone from handmade body products, fine art, jewelry, pottery, wearables and so much more! There will be refreshments, adult beverages, and your chance to purchase tickets to The Whip at backlandradio.com’s Asleep at the Wheel show, “Merry Texas Christmas, Y’all” on December 11th at the Lincoln Square Theatre. It’s going to be a super fun show – don’t miss out! Handmade gifts mean so much to the people who receive them as well as the people who made them. It also makes you look really good, you fabulous human, you. Go ahead and pick up some things for yourself. We’re pretty sure you deserve them. We’ll be “Popping Up” again in Spring ’17, so stay tuned! Come hang out with us! I throw a good party, and we’re just pretty awesome.
