Since 2009, Threads of Peru has been strengthening ancient craft techniques and empowering indigenous women, making the world richer by connecting cultures and fostering cultural diversity. As a non-profit social enterprise, we value the unique beauty of traditional Peruvian textiles and offer a more authentic and sustainable view of fashion, one that interconnects textiles, people and the planet. We work hand in hand with artisans to create beautiful, handcrafted, natural accessories and home textiles, inspiring cultural pride in the next generation and helping remote communities to thrive.
P. 3
A RT ISAN MADE P. 4 We provide an opportunity for artisans, particularly women, to earn supplementary income while continuing to live a traditional lifestyle and care for their children. We dream that this will inspire young Quechua men and women to take pride in their cultural heritage and pass it along for centuries to come. Products produced by Threads of Peru represent the work and the heritage of over 120 artisans in seven communities and four regions of Cusco, each region with its own distinct textile traditions and techniques. We want you to feel like you know the weavers as intimately as we do, as each piece is imbued with a little bit of their personality and life story.

You won’t find any synthetic fibers in this collection. We work exclusively with wool and alpaca fiber, natural materials suited to a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. Alpaca is one of the world’s finest natural fibers, making it soft yet strong, and very warm. It is also naturally hypoallergenic, breathable and water-resistant. The colors in this collection also come from nature. A rich heritage of traditional cultural knowledge and an abundance of flora and fauna in the Andes combine to create an incredibly diverse color palette, free from chemicals and synthetic irritants.
