SURGING FORWARD After a June 24 loss on the road against Washington, Portland has bounced back in convincing fashion over the last 12 games with a record of 9-2-2. During that stretch, Christine Sinclair has scored six goals and Hayley Raso has tallied five goals. Lindsey Horan has two goals and two assists, while Emily Sonnett has three goals and an assist. In addition, Meghan Klingenberg has added four assists. A total of nine players have scored a goal for Portland during that stretch.

HOME SWEET HOME Thorns FC have posted a record of 16-2-2 at Providence Park in regularseason since the beginning of the 2016 season. Portland is 34-12-8 all-time at Providence Park in the regular season. Thorns FC have won six straight home matches, outscoring opponents 12-2, while recording four clean sheets. Additionally, Portland has the third-highest scoring offense at home (22) in 2017.

Saturday’s match mark the conclusion of the 2017 regular-season for Portland Thorns FC as the club plays host to the Chicago Red Stars, the third meeting of the regular season between the two sides, at 12:30 p.m. (Pacific) at Providence Park. Portland extended its unbeaten streak to five games with a scoreless draw on the road against Orlando on Sept. 23. It marks Portland’s third stretch of five or more games unbeaten this season. Thorns FC have the best home record in the NWSL this season (9-1-1), while Chicago has been one of the most consistent teams on the road (4-3-4).

NO PLACE LIKE HOME Playing their home matches at downtown Portland’s iconic Providence Park, Thorns FC have led the league in attendance in each of their first four NWSL seasons. Globally, Thorns FC have the highest attendance of any women’s professional team in the world, averaging 16,945 fans in their fourth season in the league in 2016. Portland’s average home attendance in 2016 ranked better than 12 English Championship teams, 10 Ligue 1 teams, 7 Serie A clubs and 5 La Liga sides home attendance numbers during their 2015-16 season in addition to 10 NBA and 10 NHL teams. In four seasons, Portland has averaged better than 14,815 fans per game, including four matches of more than 20,000 fans as well as three sellouts (21,144).
