operators of the generation and distribution assets especially the distribution companies (Discos), over reports of operational underperformance amongst others, told an audience at
the Punuka Annual Lecture Series, that Nigeria adopted power privatisation models from Europe but handed over rundown assets to investors. He also stated at the annual lecture series organised
by Punuka Attorneys and Solicitors as its corporate social responsibility (CSR), that most Nigerians were either unaware of this sad realities in the sector, or chose to ignore them.

Malabu: FG Alleges Jonathan, Diezani Took Bribes, Former President Denies Claim The Federal Government has accused former President Goodluck Jonathan and the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani AlisonMadueke, of accepting bribes
and breaking the country’s laws to broker a $1.3 billion oil deal eight years ago, a London court filing shows. But Jonathan called the allegation of bribery “recycled
falsehood” by those intent on denting his rising international profile, in a statement on Saturday. The deal, in which Royal Dutch Shell and Eni
jointly acquired the rights to an offshore oilfield, Oil Prospecting Licence 245, has spawned legal cases spanning several countries. The Federal Government
had in December last year filed a $1.1 billion lawsuit against Shell and Eni in a commercial court in London in relation to a 2011 oilfield deal in Nigeria.
