Please let us introduce ourselves

We are three things; 1 Design Studio 2 Wholesaler 3 Retailer

What started as an art multiple project founded by Abigail Crompton in 2003, is now a widely respected global business. Third Drawer Down Studio offers creative, unique and affordable art licensed products to an enviable client list featuring leading museums, galleries and design stores globally.

Our studio has collaborated with over 150 contemporary artists to create licensed objects for everyday use. Some of our collaborations

thus far, include Louise Bourgeois, Ai Weiwei and David Shrigley. Our focus is on the very essence of collaboration and the challenges posed by cultural retailing. Everything that comes out of Third Drawer Down Studio bears the hallmarks of artistic integrity and functionality. We live and breathe in the space that connects art/design, product, retail and customers.

By 2006, the studio began making bespoke products for such prestigious institutions as the Tate, MoMA and Whitney. This point represented the realisation of the studio’s vision to bridge the gap between artists, the cultural institutions that represent them and ultimately to extend the artist’s story in a sensitive yet commercial manner.

This is where our studio has come from and we hope that you’ll be a part of where we’re going.

Our designers know how important it is to strike the balance between artistic design and commercial sensibility and after 10 years we have this down to an art form. We pride ourselves on only working with high quality, cost efficient suppliers that always

meet the brief. The integrity of your art is important to us and we work hard to ensure we create only the very best products. As we produce third and fourth collections for several of our artists, we think this speaks for itself.

We truly understand consumers with lifestyle interests (art, design, fashion, popular culture), which means constantly challenging our thinking, approaches and interpretations. We LOVE to explore new formats for retail, presentation and promotion, all of which assists better product launches, increased desirability and is naturally more fun!
