“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.” - Psalm 121:1
- Our Founders
Will and Ammie Akin, married for 22 years, have always been motivated by the same purpose: serving others with hearts dedicated to goodwill and making a lasting, positive impact.
Starting with teaching her dolls as a little girl, Ammie has carried her drive into the future needs of the community with Hub in the Hills. From the moment she changed her major from elementary education to special education, her path has been defined by a deep commitment to supporting those facing challenges. Her journey has been filled with obstacles, yet she has remained steadfast in her dedication to creating meaningful change.
As a student at the University of Alabama, she met Will. A weeknight, on-campus Bible study, brought them together. This dedicated couple—whose professional and personal journeys have intertwined— have led the community in service and growth. Ammie’s journey as a wife and soon thereafter, mother of three boys, took her from classroom teacher to university professor. Meanwhile, Will, a seasoned real estate developer, has revitalized communities by transforming spaces with heart and purpose. Having spent years supporting non-profits, they’ve discovered how challenging it is to find affordable, specialty space in a convenient location.
At Hub in the Hills, they aim to provide a high-quality space with all the necessary resources, allowing organizations to focus on their redemptive impact. Here, their vision is to blend their professional expertise with their personal mission—ensuring that Hub in the Hills becomes a catalyst for positive change.

Do The Right Thing
“After many wonderful fun filled years, I knew it was the final day of school, and I was going to have to say goodbye.
When I came over the intercom before ringing that last bell, I thought I could keep it together. I thanked the faculty, staff, and students for a fabulous year. It was a year of learning filled with much love and enjoyment. I mentioned that we started the year strong, which was good, but we also finished the year strong, which is epic.”
