More precisely, big data encompasses all of the data that cannot easily be processed using traditional computing as it is too complex, fast or large.

Velocity New technology also makes it possible for the data collected by businesses to be streamed in and analysed at a high velocity, in many cases at or close to real time, facilitating advanced decision-making capability.

Format The same technology allows businesses to collate data in almost any format, ranging from traditional databases to more advanced unstructured information.

Big data is often referred to when discussing artificial intelligence.
