Youth Hub Introduction The Youth Hub is the first and one of its kind center for youth which serves as a one-stop shop for all youthful opportunities in the country. The Youth Hub operates as an independent organization, providing a physical platform for young people to explore their talents and capabilities; to equip themselves with different skills; to gain an experience that will help them in their personal and professional growth; and to network and spend leisure time. The Youth Hub aims to become the country’s most demanded youth space by running, hosting or promoting various programs, events, activities and services for young people in Qatar. Youth Hub Zones & Spaces The Youth Hub is separated in different spaces and zones. These different spaces provide young people with the opportunities to engage and be active in their own individual lifestyles, whether it be volunteering, or producing and creating their own music/films, going to the gym, interacting in a professional environment, or even just enjoying a hot chocolate while playing videogames or watching movies. These spaces is what basically creates the whole atmosphere of the Youth Hub and draws people from various academic and cultural backgrounds together to ensure engagement and interaction within the community, creativity and learning. The Youth Hub operates in a fast changing environment and certain zones and spaces might appear or be re-arranged based on current needs. As of now, planned zones and spaces are: Chill – Ground Floor The main area of the Ground Floor, called Chill, is serving as a multi-purpose space, suitable for hosting various programs, activities and events: from dance and yoga classes to conferences, lectures, workshops, movie screenings and more. When the space is free from events, multiple sitting areas and corners can be a perfect location for work, quick meetings with colleagues or friends. STYLE. STYLE. is a shopping corner within Chill area, which aims to exhibit and sell the selection of clothes, accessories, merchandise, interior décor and gift items, created by young designers. MUNCH. MUNCH. is a mouth-watering café, offering hot and cold drinks and snacks to the visitors of the hub. The bar tables of MUNCH. are also very comfortable for work with the laptop or browsing Internet, while the walls, used for advertisement, can tell visitors about the most interesting opportunities and events in the country.
PLAY. PLAY. caters one of the most popular needs among the youth in spending leisure time, serving as a gaming zone, where visitors can play video games, foosball or book any table games. MOVE. MOVE. is a space, planned to use for gym and fitness classes to promote healthier lifestyle among youth. Currently under construction. SERVE. SERVE. is a customer service counter that provides all visitors with information about different programs, activities, events and services of the Youth Hub and its partners. All registrations, bookings, inquiries, payments are to be done and catered at Serve. Create – First Floor LEARN. The main area of Create zone is an open space, which can be used for coworking, studying, tutorship, trainings, workshops and lectures, counseling and mentorship sessions. FORGE. FORGE. is a studio room, which hosts young musicians and talents in multimedia production. Being one of the most creative spaces in the hub, studio can be used for music recordings, rehearsals and practices, music classes, photo and video-shoots, rental of photo and video equipment. Collaborate – Second Floor The upper floor of the hub is designed for office use and combines open space with 2 separate rooms. Collaborate welcomes young entrepreneurs, start-ups and individuals, providing working desks for rent, which includes Internet connection, landline, printing facilities and office supplies, cleaning services, complimentary coffee and tea.
Youth Hub Floaters – Internship Opportunities The Youth Hub is managed, operated and run by young people to be able to cater needs of its target audiences, which is mainly youth aged 14-29. That is why the hub always welcomes young individuals with various academic backgrounds and interests, who wish to volunteer to facilitate activation of the hub, its zones and spaces. For example, anyone interested in fashion design can always support development of STYLE., while active gamers can take over organization of play station tournaments in PLAY. While hub is starting-up, we are mainly looking for people, who can volunteer min 20 hours a week. However, we welcome anyone, who is ready to offer time and skills for hub development and volunteering hours can be easily adjusted.
