Dunolly Kindergarten Upgrade
The Dunolly Kindergarten has unveiled a raft of renovations and improvements this week, set to create a more accessible and user friendly space for children and the broader community. Spanning a number of years, the works have been funded through the State Government, Central Goldfields Shire Council and the kindergarten’s parent advisory group. Unveiled on Wednesday as part of the kinder’s open day, works included a new roof and floor for the building, a fresh coat of paint, bathroom upgrades, new shade sails and changes to the sandpit. Dunolly Kindergarten teacher Kylie McMahon said the upgrades have been several years in the making and are designed to create a more user friendly and accessible space. “The idea behind the works was to make the kinder service

aesthetically pleasing and usable for the children and families,” she said. “Our building is also used for supported playgroup and we wanted something that was more fit for purpose as well, it’s a great old building that needed some work and it’s now a much more inviting space for parents and families. “This enhances our ability to deliver a holistic program here — we do a lot of outdoor and nature-based play so having an outdoor classroom space is so important.” Ms McMahon said there’s a sense of pride in the community at seeing the works completed, with a number of local families involved over the years. “There’s a sense of accomplishment for everyone involved, particularly for my team here and some of the families as well.
