PORTRAIT OF AN ARTIST

FOREWORD The passing earlier this year of our mother Joan, aged 92, and the sale of the home that she had lived in alone for some thirty years following Ivor’s death, aged only 67, in 1986 has been the catalyst for putting on this exhibition. It has provided an appropriate opportunity for myself and my siblings, Julian and Debra, to commemorate both their lives with an exhibition of some of our father’s finest paintings that hitherto have been stored unseen since our last exhibition in 2005. As a family we have all grown up surrounded by Ivor’s art, and our homes are predominantly decorated with his works. All the paintings on display are for sale, in the hope that we can now disseminate more widely his art, and find new homes for some of these remarkably powerful works. We will also be offering and donating paintings to museums and institutions that might wish to have examples of his work. I therefore hope that you will enjoy looking through this digital catalogue and that you will take the opportunity to come and see the exhibition. You will receive a warm welcome. - Mark Weiss, September 2017
