Residents can help write a new chapter in the lives of students in the Solomon Islands by supporting Hoppers Crossing Apex Club’s mega-book sale. Members have collected thousands of books, half of which will be sold for $2 or less to raise money to cover shipping costs while the remaining educational and children’s books will be sent to 500 schools in the South Pacific nation. Adrian Walker, Amanda Cases, Cath Smith and six-month-old William are among those supporting Saturday’s sale. ■ STORY BY SUE HEWITT, PAGE 5
