

LEADERSHIP
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Webb School Leadership Program provides Upper School students with unique opportunities, including specialized classes and mentorship, that foster the development of their leadership skills. Offering a challenging curriculum, the program focuses on the key competencies essential for successful leadership across various fields, enabling hardworking and dedicated students to exceed Webb’s academic requirements and graduate with distinction.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
Interested students must apply and enter The Webb School Leadership Program by the 10th grade.
FRESHMAN YEAR
Leadership Fundamentals
This course introduces students to the basics of leadership, including effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Mentorship Program
Freshmen are paired with a coach or mentor, offering their guidance, support and insights for navigating challenges and setting goals throughout the first year of high school.
SOPHOMORE YEAR
Ethical Leadership
In this course, students delve into the principles of ethical leadership, exploring topics such as integrity, accountability and social responsibility in decisionmaking processes.
Service-Learning Project
Sophomores create, develop and engage in a servicelearning project that allows them to apply leadership concepts in a real-world setting while simultaneously fostering empathy and community engagement. Working closely with their assigned faculty advisor, students are tasked with organizing and leading their peers through the service initiative.

JUNIOR YEAR
Advanced Leadership Strategies
This course focuses on advanced leadership strategies, including leading through change, conflict resolution and strategic planning for personal and group success.
Professional Mentorship Program
Juniors are matched with professionals in their field of interest. Through mentorship, they gain practical insights and establish professional connections to support their future endeavors.
SENIOR YEAR
Capstone Leadership Project
Applying all learned leadership skills, seniors initiate and execute a Capstone Leadership Project that addresses a school- or community-wide need or challenge.
PROGRAM RECOGNITION
By participating in this program, students will not only excel academically but also emerge as skilled and confident leaders, prepared to make a positive impact in their future academic and professional endeavors.
Students who complete The Webb School Leadership Program, along with Webb’s standard college-preparatory curriculum, will receive a Distinction in Leadership designation on their high school transcript. In addition, they will have developed a comprehensive portfolio showcasing their leadership journey, experiences and accomplishments, which can be utilized throughout the college application process to demonstrate their leadership potential and readiness for success in a higher education setting.
