WARRIOR IMPACT STORY Lydia Warriors Give Back *Stock Image
Background Lydia Harris’ strong connections to her community helped The Warrior Alliance (TWA) reach several veterans within the Fort Benning/Columbus area. After serving honorably in the U.S. Army, including two deployments in support of OIF/ OEF, Lydia immersed herself in community engagement work and volunteerism.
Solution In support of TWA’s Warrior Food Insecurity Program, Lydia identified several veterans facing food insecurity and hunger issues through her extensive network. She coordinated directly with TWA staff in communicating the program eligibility requirements and she encouraged veterans to complete the application process as soon as possible to meet the submission deadline. Thanks to Lydia’s work, TWA was able to help fight food insecurity in the Chattahoochee Valley. Lydia will graduate from Troy University, Phenix City Campus with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, with a Minor in Sociology. She is the mother of two beautiful daughters and currently pursuing a career Clinical Psychology with a focus on serving her fellow Veterans and their families.
Impact Lydia is a great example of how Warriors can become a force multiplier in the community by referring their fellow brothers and sisters to TWA so they can get the help they need.
