Wānaka Airport Liason Committee: Vacancy for Chair

Queenstown Lakes District Council is seeking a Chair for the newly formed Wānaka Airport Liaison Committee.

The committee (a requirement of the District Plan) is tasked with considering and making recommendations on matters within its responsibilities and key projects detailed in the Terms of Reference.

The Airport itself is owned by Queenstown Lakes District Council with dayto-day operations delivered by Queenstown Airport Corporation under a management services agreement. The airport is home to a range of aviationrelated attractions and events, such as Warbirds over Wānaka. More than 11 businesses and 250 people work in and around the airport, including scheduled domestic services to/from Christchurch with Sounds Air, a large and growing number of helicopters offering training and charter, and NASA’s scientific research operations.

Applications for this new position are sought from suitably qualified candidates who can bring rigour and independence to the role. A person specification and the Terms of Reference are available from the QLDC website (www.qldc.govt.nz) or on request. Experience in the airport or airline/ aviation industry would be an advantage. We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our well supported Reception and Administration team. This position will be between 24-32 hours per week however the days worked are flexible. There will also be some weekend and public holiday work required.

In this role you will be responsible for:-

•Booking appointments appropriately.

•Payments and reconciliation.

•Entering information accurately into our Patient Management System

•Providing excellent customer service.

•Good telephone etiquette.

About you - Mōu:

To be successful in this role you must:

•Have a strong customer service focus, together with well-developed inter-personal skills.

•Have the ability to prioritise workloads.

•A sound working knowledge of the usual office systems, Microsoft suite, email, scanning and photocopying.

•Be able to multi-task effectively with strong attention to detail to get the job completed accurately, effectively and efficiently.

•Preferably but not essentially experienced in working with Medtech 32 or Medtech Evolution.

•Fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

•Have current eligibility to work in New Zealand.

Forklift Driver / Yard team member

PlaceMakers is the Leading & Largest Supplier of Building Materials & Hardware in NZ. A Forklift Driver / Yard team member position is available herein Wanaka. This role is a Monday to Friday, full or part-time position.

The role:

You’ll be working in our Yard and Drive Thru area, dealing with our building trade customer base. Your key responsibilities will include serving customers, loading products onto vehicles/trucks, occasional deliveries out to sites, assisting as directed to ensure an efficient warehouse is maintained, and monitoring inventory and cycle counts.

What you will bring:

Industry knowledge or warehousing experience isn’t essential as it will be your attitude and willingness to learn that will be most appreciated. The role does require heavy lifting, so you will need to be physically fit and have solid Health and Safety values. To be considered for this role you must have a clean, full driver licence. You will need to be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. You will have great attention to detail as well as competent computer and numeracy skills.
