McKinstry joins T&B Former journalist, editorial writer and political analyst Gerald “Jerry” McKinstry has joined Thompson & Bender (T&B), a regional public relations, advertising, marketing and social media firm as senior account executive. McKinstry served as political correspondent for The Journal News with a focus on county government and as a columnist and editorial board member at Newsday. He currently hosts a weekly radio program focusing on government and politics and has taught college-level journalism. “Jerry brings to Thompson & Bender a strong background in journalism and top quality writing skills that earned him numerous accolades as a reporter, columnist, and editorial writer,” said Geoff Thompson, T&B chairman and a founding partner. “We are very fortunate to have an individual with his depth of knowledge, talents and interpersonal skills join our team. Jerry is well known throughout the regional community and adds a strong new dimension to our agency.” In his new position, McKinstry will work on a broad range of news-related public relations projects and initiatives, social media outreach, as well as copy for clients. A resident of Ridgefield, Conn., McKinstry received a Bachelor of Arts in political science and economics from Manhattan College and a Masters of Science degree in print and online journalism from Iona.

Kickoff for Boys & Girls Club THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF NORTHERN WESTCHESTER (BGCNW), Mount Kisco, kicked off preparations recently for its 20th annual Humanitarian Award Dinner at Café of Love in Mount Kisco, urging committee members and volunteers to support the 75-year-old organization and the children it serves. Brian Skanes, executive director of the BGCNW, and Todd Rockefeller, board president, noted the June 7 award dinner will honor Stuart Marwell, longtime BGCNW board member, supporter and alum, and the president and CEO of Curtis Instruments in Mount Kisco. “The award dinner will be a giant reunion for club members past and present,” Skanes said. “And it won’t just be a look back at the past 75 years, but also a look ahead to the next 75.” Mount Kisco Mayor J.
