SPRING CLEAN and turn your TRASH INTO CASH No matter how junky you think an item is, consider this truth:

Someone somewhere will probably pay for it. One of the best parts of spring cleaning is getting rid of clutter that you no longer need. While we may have a tendency to hoard and hold on to items in the winter, we generally are more ready to let go of clutter when spring arrives, cleaning will be a lot easier when the clutter is gone. DE-CLUTTER Begin with four boxes or containers and label them: 1. 2. 3. 4.

RUBBISH PUT AWAY STORE SELL OR GIVE AWAY

RUBBISH BOX This should include any item that you do not need or want, but that is not worth donating or selling. Damaged and broken items should be included in the rubbish box if they are not worth being repaired.

PUT AWAY BOX Only for items that need to be out on a regular basis. Make sure you have a place for each item. If the items in this box will not fit into your home without cluttering an area up, try to reassess if you really need them.

STORAGE BOX Put items in here that you cannot part with but do not need on a regular basis. Make a list of these items. Group similar items together. Remember one good way to clean out wardrobes is to store winter clothing.

SELL OR GIVEAWAY BOX Consider the financial benefits of selling your stuff at a carboot sale or online. You can sell your unwanted items using an online auction such as Ebay or by going to a Car Boot Sale; You may be amazed at what people will buy. Something that you no longer have any use for and think of as junk can be someone else’s treasure. Items which are in good condition and have useful life left in them are all good to sell.

If you would prefer to giveaway your unwanted items you can take them to your local Charity shop. Charity shops are always on the lookout for lovely things, some even offer a collection service if you are unable to drop off your donated items.

If you haven't used something for over a year, you probably won’t!
