The volunteers at Roleybushcare were recently joined by a group of young scouts, known as Joeys, and their parents on a field day. The Joeys helped revegetate the Hall Road Bushland Reserve and their contributions on the day were greatly appreciated. In total, there were around 50 people hard at work and we would like to thank Yvonne Ward for preparing a delicious morning tea. We loved having such a happy group join us for the morning. Our next field day will be a dieback treatment session held at the Eskdale Reserve, Eskdale Road, Roleystone, on November 9, 2014. Signs will indicate the location of the trailer and meeting point. SUCCESS FOR WA IN GIRLFRIEND MODEL SEARCH

When local Roleystone resident Leah Bell participated in a personal development course, little did she know it would take her to the National Finals of the 2014 Girlfriend Rimmel Model Search. Conducted by Girlfriend magazine, the national competition turns the modelling dreams of Australian girls into reality, and has launched the careers of Samantha Harris, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Alyssa Sutherland, Catherine McNeil and Ruby Rose. “The Girlfriend Rimmel Model Search is the highlight of our event calendar, and our readers absolutely love taking part,” said Sarah Tarca, editor of Girlfriend magazine. Over the past few months, Girlfriend magazine, along with major sponsors Rimmel London, Chic Management, Fujifilm Instax and St Ives, has toured Australia in the 24th annual search to discover healthy, confident girls who are ready for the international stage. This year’s national finalists were chosen from more than 2000 contenders, and include Leah Bell (15, WA), Lilli Watt (14, WA), Rhiannon Proper (13, QLD), Avril Campbell (17, NSW), Emily Claire McDonald (14, VIC) and (left) L-R Emily McDonald, Meg Thurston, Leah Bell (from Roleystone) Meg Thurston (16, VIC). (right) L-R: Rhiannon Proper, Lilli Watt, Avril Campbell. As a National Finalist, Leah has Steve’s Unique already won a two-year contract with Chic Management, return airfares to Sydney for the finalists’ fashion shoot, Eco Handmade Art return airfares to Sydney for the winner announcement event, and a Rimmel London pack valued at $500. Leah is currently in Year 10 at John Wollaston Anglican Community School in Kelmscott, and her friends and family relocation sale have been very supportive of her wonderful achievement. 30% off antiques Leah became involved in modelling after she participated in a personal development course run by DMG Creative. “The course included a few photo shoots which gave me the confidence to try out for the Girlfriend Model Search. I knew about the competition from being a reader of the magazine,” said Leah. 0418 916 366 When asked about the experience, Leah said it has helped her become more comfortable in front of many people as 2/2 Soldiers Rd Roleystone she is a naturally shy person. Email:stevemelville7@bigpond.com “The best part of the competition was meeting the girlfriend team, such as editor Sarah Tarca, and Samantha Harris, Open Wed-Sat 10-4, Sun 12-4 a famous model who was also a National Finalist of the same competition in 2004.” www.steveswroughtironarts.com.au The overall winner of the Girlfriend Rimmel Model Search 2014 will receive a two-year contract with Chic REpaiR WORk specialising in wrought iron, wood, mosaics, sml steel fabrication, Management, an opportunity to be represented by Next Model Management in one of its six overseas agencies, an sculpture, fences, gates, balustrading, appearance in two fashion shoots for Girlfriend magazine and a one-year supply of Rimmel London products. handrails, lighting & security doors The last few months have been a whirlwind of excitement for Leah Bell, with the stunning photos from her finalist shoot in Sydney being published in the September issue of Girlfriend magazine. Despite all this, she remains humble and grounded in her success. “I would love to pursue modelling in the future, however I need to focus on finishing high school first before getting too involved with modelling. Fortunately, Chic Management understand this and are very supportive.” The Overall Winner of the Girlfriend Rimmel Model Search for 2014 will be announced in the October issue of Girlfriend Magazine. The Valley Reporter would like to congratulate Leah Bell and fellow WA contestant Lilli Watt for their fantastic achievement and wish them all the best in the finals. Sky O’Brien.

FRIENDS OF CHURCHMANS BUSHLAND On our first workday, the Friends of Churchmans Bushland removed large amounts of cottonbush from the Stocker Road section of the area. Some of the cottonbush were 4-5 years old, and although we only made a small dent in this environmental issue, it will assist in reducing some ongoing spread. Removal of the cottonbush will continue over the coming months and years to reduce its impact. Cottonbush is now a declared weed within the City of Armadale and landowners have a legal responsibility to address it if found on their property. Unfortunately, local government by-laws do not have legal implications for State and Federal Government lands. After a morning of hard work, we had a barbeque in the wonderful old shearing shed on site. Jon and Theda Dunsmore,

who were part of the original group set up in 1992, joined us. We had the opportunity to thank them for past efforts and listened to their knowledge and experiences in community management of the Churchmans Bushland over many years. As the site consists of 620 hectares of public open space, we are taking our time to gain an understanding of this amazing and fascinating location. On Saturday 27 September at 1pm, we will be meeting at the end of Beeloo Close and walking across the old, now revegetated air strip to a section that has good quality bushland, taking out weeds as we go. You are most welcome to join us. Bring your gardening gloves and secateurs. Pat Hart, Email: pathart1@bigpond.com.

On behalf of the Roleystone Seniors Housing Committee, Kelvin Oliver (local planning consultant) and myself have expressed community concerns and sought assistance for key issues to be addressed prior to any rezoning request for the school site. We have met with Mayor Henry Zelones, MLA Tony Simpson and MLC Helen Morton. We have also communicated with MLC Donna Faragher. A letter has also been received from the Director of Planning Services Armadale, Ian McRae, in response to our concerns. The old school site is a one in a million opportunity for seniors housing in Roleystone due to flat levels and access to amenities that seniors require for dayto-day living. There are also some impediments. These include the demolition and asbestos costs, the price for the site requested by the Education Department, and Department of Health policies on sewerage issues. However, by recommending and approving the rezoning from a school site to seniors housing, the City of Armadale

believe it is achievable. We are requesting that all efforts be made to address these issues for the benefit of our community. Last month we issued a survey which found 90 expressions of interest from persons wishing to purchase seniors housing at the site over the coming years. We are now waiting for a response from the Department of Education in regard to our request to put a hold on their rezoning application. We are also hoping the City of Armadale will put together a small group of professional people (including Government Officers and Kelvin Oliver) to work through the main issues that are hindering developers from taking the seniors housing option on board. Pat Hart, Chair - Roleystone Seniors Housing.

increasing fruit and vegetables in your diet increases bone density. Both smoking and excessive alcohol intake reduce the activity of the osteoblasts (bone building cells) leading to lower bone mass. You can reduce the risk of osteoporosis by lowering smoking, alcohol, and caffeine use. Finally, you must have a regular source of calcium and vitamin D. Men aged 19-70 and women aged 19-50 require 1000mg of calcium daily. Women over 50 require 1300mg. It is necessary to eat at least 3-4 generous serves of dairy (cheese, milk, yoghurt) to achieve this. Tuna, almonds, salmon and tofu are other good sources of calcium. Whilst food is always the best source of calcium, supplements are available. Check with your pharmacist as not all supplements are absorbed in the same way. Treatment of osteoporosis focuses on preventing fractures, reducing pain and maintaining function. One of the primary ways of treating osteoporosis is to slow down the activity of the osteoclasts. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about medicines that help trap calcium in bones.

On Monday 20 August, a bolt of lightning struck a tree in Jarrah Road bushland above the telephone cabling. Consequently, all phones in the surrounding area were out and it took more than three days for technicians to find the fault and carry out repairs.

HIGH POINT

LIGHTNING STRIKE

Osteoporosis is a skeletal disease characterised by low bone mass and deterioration of bone tissue where bones are more fragile and susceptible to fracture. Our bones are constantly being remodelled: oseteoblasts build bone whilst osteoclasts dissolve and resorb bone. We gradually build up bone mass as we reach maximal height, however somewhere between 30 and 40 years of age we gradually decline in bone and muscle mass. At the time of menopause, women experience accelerated bone loss up to 2-5% per year for 10 or more years. Osteoporosis impacts the length and quality of life for both men and women over the age of 65. One in three postmenopausal women sustain at least one low trauma fracture. By age 80, up to 70% of woman have osteoporosis. It is estimated that two million Australians are affected by osteoporosis related conditions. The most serious consequence of osteoporosis is hip fracture: 20% of those with hip fracture die within the first year, and 27% require nursing home placement. After one year, 40% are unable to walk independently, 60% are limited to doing a class 1 activity (feeding, dressing or toileting) and 80% of people struggle with shopping, gardening or climbing stairs. This is devastating to a previously active and independent individual. Prevention is better than a cure. In order to strengthen your bones and reduce the risk of osteoporosis, it is important to get enough physical exercise. Walking and weight bearing exercise strengthens bones at a young age and builds muscle tone and balance in later years. Improving your diet is also important. Studies indicate that

CALL ALEXI CHRISTIDIS 0404 485 137

Labor Senator for Western Australia

Senator for Hasluck, Tangley, Durack & O’Connor NEW DATA SHOWS LOCAL IMPACT OF TRADE TRAINING CENTRE CUTS New information – obtained from the Education Department through Senate Estimates – shows that 29 eligible schools in Durack, 18 eligible schools in Hasluck, 14 eligible schools in Tangney and 18 eligible schools in O’Connor will never get the opportunity to have a Trade Training Centre because of Tony Abbott’s cuts. With many areas facing trade skills shortages, and higher youth unemployment, the Government’s decision to cancel all future Trade Training Centres simply can’t be justified. “Young people need skills and work experience to get good jobs, and Trade Training Centres mean high school students get the opportunity to do that,” Senator Sterle said. “Ken Wyatt, Dennis Jensen, Rick Wilson and Melissa Price, the local liberals have failed to stand up for their local communities and local young people will pay the price for them putting their political interests ahead of our schools and jobs,” Senator Sterle said. “Denying students these opportunities will just make youth unemployment worse, and rob our young people of a fair shot at getting a job – the kind of opportunities that today’s workforce benefited from when they were young. “I call on local liberals Ken Wyatt, Dennis Jensen, Rick Wilson and Melissa Price to actually do something for their local communities, stand up to Tony Abbott and demand these cuts be reversed,” said Senator Sterle. The Abbott Government has cancelled the

Trade Training Centres program and cut $950 million out of the Budget – enough to build 650 new centres. The Abbott Government is also pressing ahead with extraordinary and punitive attacks on young people which will make it harder for the next generation to grow their skills, get work and build Australia’s future. The Abbott Government has also cut all three federal youth unemployment prevention programs – Youth Connections, Partnership Brokers and National Career Advice. Programs which help young Australians finish Year 12, get work experience and understand their options for the future. “Denying young people the dole for six months no matter how hard they are trying to find work, while at the same time as scrapping real opportunities to gain skills and advice for employment programs is grossly unfair and simply doesn’t make sense,” said Senator Sterle. “How can Tony Abbott expect our young people to get jobs when he is taking away their opportunity to get the skills to be work ready,” said Senator Sterle. With youth unemployment standing at around 9.9% across Western Australia, and rising across the country, there will be longterm price to pay for these cuts. “If we look at welfare dependency, and economic growth and even the crime rate, these could all get worse as a result of these cuts. “Tony Abbott lied when he said there would be no cuts to education. “I stand alongside with local school communities and will continue to hold the government to account for this broken promise,” said Senator Sterle.

Footy Colours Day

Compassionate convenient care of your pet at home

Roleystone Community College hosted its Footy Colours Day fundraiser on Friday 12 September. The fundraiser is a popular event on the school calendar and this year lived up to expectations as staff and students donned their favourite footy team’s colours. There were representatives from all footy codes, including super soccer players, amazing AFL players and remarkable rugby players, while some girls wore their fabulous netball tops! Faces were painted and hair was tied in true support of Australia’s sporting teams. All participants donated a gold coin and helped raise money for the Student Council Body to put back into the College. The day was filled with fun and excitement as students shared the details of their outfit with friends. Some classrooms even ran a competition that rewarded the 3 best outfits with house points, while the best-dressed staff member also received a special prize.

• State Government invests $2m to allow children free entry to agricultural shows; • Entry for children accompanied by an adult to IGA Perth Royal Show and affiliated regional shows. Children accompanied by an adult will be given free entry to the IGA Perth Royal Show and their local Royal Agricultural Society-affiliated shows, under a $2million State Government initiative to support Western Australian agriculture. Under the initiative, $1.2million will go towards providing free entry for children aged 12 years and younger to the IGA Perth Royal Show, when accompanied by an adult. A further $800,000 will also be available for affiliated regional shows to fund free entry for children when accompanied by an adult. Agriculture and Food Minister Ken Baston said with demand for agricultural produce rising, there was great potential for expanding the sector. It was important for all children to learn about the agricultural industry from a young age. “It’s a sector that brings real export dollars into Western Australia’s economy,” Mr Baston said. “There are real opportunities for careers in agriculture and agricultural shows play an important role in showcasing the industry to the next generation. At a more basic level, children can learn where the food they eat really comes from.” The Farm 2 Food Pavilion attracted about 200,000 people last year, giving them the opportunity to experience milling

Book Week at Good ShepherD

The staff and students at Good Shepherd Catholic Primary in Kelmscott recently celebrated Book Week. This year’s theme was “Reading to Connect”. A highlight of the day was a tower of giraffes that could be seen roaming on the school crosswalk (formerly known as the zebra crossing). The pigmy giraffes were discovered by Year Four teacher Mrs Stone and hence named Girrafustonicus!

It was a wonderful way to start the book character day and highlighted the connectedness of Good Shepherd staff. Congratulations to all staff, students and creative parents who went above and beyond to participate in the spirit of the day with our colourful morning assembly and parade. Congratulations to Mrs Archibald and the Library Team for putting together a truly magical time for Book Week 2014.

Bobcat & Tip Truck Hire The Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School held their annual Athletics Carnival for Years K – 6 on Friday 5 September. The carnival took place on a beautiful spring day while families cheered for their children and the smell of a delicious sausage sizzle organised by the Year 6 parent group filled the air. With the school oval looking immaculate thanks to the efforts of school groundsman Mr Csohany, the carnival began with senior students participating in field events including a 400 metre race, turbo javelin and long jump. Throughout the day, sports captains and Year 6 students motivated their factions and cheered for their teammates. With an

emphasis on participation, teamwork and striving to achieve your personal best, the children pushed themselves to the limits. In the end, Xavier were the 2014 Athletics Carnival champions with house captain Daniel Corrigan doing a wonderful job in accepting the coveted shield. The carnival was coordinated by PE teacher extraordinaire Miss Shaw, who did a fantastic job in fitting the carnival in to one full day. Well done to Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School staff, students and parents for your efforts in ensuring the 2014 Athletics Carnival was a success.

BRACKENRIDGE

The arrival of spring means it is time to start counting quendas. The World Wildlife Fund-Australia and the WA Department of Parks and Wildlife are once again running the Spring Quenda Count. The Count is a ‘citizen science’ survey aimed at monitoring quenda population numbers and distribution within the Perth and Peel regions. The quenda is a subspecies of southern brown bandicoot only found in southwest Western Australia. Quendas are under threat from habitat loss, vehicle strike, predation from cats, dogs and foxes, drowning in swimming pools and garden ponds and poisoning from snail and rat baits. Weighing between 400g to 1.8kg, the quenda falls within the critical weight range (100g-5kg) of mammals. The southern brown bandicoot is active day and night. While generally a solitary species, the home ranges of multiple individuals may overlap if food is plentiful (WWF 2014). The quenda count survey runs from September 1 until November 30, 2014. To participate, simply download a 2014 survey sheet from the WWF-Australia website

or email quenda@wwf.org.au to have one sent to you. You must first choose a survey site. This is a place where you have seen quendas before; it may be your own garden or a local park or patch of bush. It must be a specific location and for this reason, we ask that you record quendas within a defined area, preferably around 50 metres x 50 metres. Once a location has been chosen, please follow the three easy steps outlined on the data sheet. The WWF-Australia would be extremely grateful for your help. Please do what you can manage over a consecutive 7-day period during the months of September to November. Please note that zero counts are also important: your completed data sheet will still be needed if you don’t see any quendas during your 7-day survey period. Please send your completed data sheet/s to quenda@wwf.org. au by November 30. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance! Rebecca Boyland, Species Program Assistant, Southwest Australia WWF-Aust.

The Department of Parks and Wildlife is reminding people to be aware that snake activity is on the rise with warmer spring weather. Wildlife officer Emma Lipianin said snake encounters would increase as reptiles emerged from winter hibernation to bask in the sun. “Snakes are most active over the next few months and we expect the number of calls from concerned residents who come across a snake will rise sharply,” she said. “We recommend people take extra care when venturing outdoors, particularly near swamps, lakes and bushland. “Snakes will normally try to avoid humans, but it is best to be aware and take precautions such as wearing long pants and enclosed shoes while walking along bush trails.” Ms Lipianin said most snake bites occurred when

people tried to catch or kill a snake. She also urged dog owners to be particularly careful when walking their pets near wetlands and bushland as dogs rarely survive a venomous snake bite. Residents can reduce the risk of having a snake in the backyard by keeping yards clear of long grass, discarded household rubbish and building materials, which provide snakes with shelter. “Outdoor aviaries often attract snakes, so keeping the aviaries and surrounding area free from discarded bird seed will deter the snake’s favourite prey items, such as rats and mice.” She said it was not unusual to find venomous snakes, including dugites and tiger snakes, in the Perth metropolitan area. If you are concerned about a snake on your property, bring your children and pets inside. You can also contact Parks and Wildlife’s 24-hour Wildcare Helpline on 9474 9055 for details of licensed operators who can safely remove and relocate snakes.

retailers. “With a little knowledge and care it’s possible to cut household electricity use by up to 25%, saving a typical household around $435 per year, which I’m sure could be put to better use,” said Mayor Zelones. Free discussion on waterways and more Come along to a City of Armadale Bushcare and Environmental Working Group (BEWG) talk on Wednesday 15 October to hear ways to protect waterways in our area. Mayor Henry Zelones said a representative from the Water Corporation will be on hand to discuss a variety of topics such as the source of environmental water flows. “The discussion will also cover the strategic plan for dams and the relationship with waterways within the metropolitan catchment area, including the Canning and Churchman’s Brook Dams. “Other points of discussion will include: water catchment restrictions; desalination pipelines; and supply and information on the Wungong Catchment Thinning Trial results. “Members of the community are welcome to attend the BEWG plenary session,” said Mayor Zelones. This BEWG plenary session is free for local residents and will be held on Wednesday 15 October at 6.30pm at Frye Park, Clifton Street, Kelmscott. Bookings are essential. To RSVP, contact the City’s Environmental Officer by 4pm on Wednesday 8 October on 9399 0111.

City applies for sport facilities grant for netball courts in Cross Park The City of Armadale will seek a grant from the Department of Sport and Recreation (DSR) for funding for the planned upgrade of two Cross Park netball and basketball courts. The City applied last month for a grant under the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) for the resurfacing of the two courts that are currently available to Roleystone Netball Club and Roleystone Basketball Club. Mayor Henry Zelones said the clubs are the only community based clubs in the City of Armadale for their respective sports, and have a combined member ship of 292 junior and senior players and are at capacity for usage and do not provide for potential future growth. “The clubs currently allocate up to four teams per court for training, creating overcrowding and limited training times available to accommodate all teams. “The refurbishment of the two additional courts would provide a total of four courts being available for both clubs, allowing the opportunity for further growth in membership and improved training facilities with potential for inter-club games,” said Mayor Zelones. Proposed improvements include line marking, adjustable goals, drainage at the rear of the courts and upgrade of the cyclone fencing. Under the CSRFF guidelines, the City can apply for up to one third of the total cost of an eligible project, which in this case is $19,075. Council’s contribution would amount to $28,150 with the Roleystone Netball Club contributing $10,000 towards the upgrade. It’s easy being Green! The City of Armadale is encouraging residents and ratepayers to visit their local library and learn how to save dollars and trim their annual household budget. Mayor Henry Zelones said thanks to a partnership between the Switch your thinking! program and Rivers Regional Council, being environmentally friendly has just been made a whole lot easier. “Home Sustainability Audit Kits, can be borrowed free of charge by residents, and provide practical tools and information to help householders conduct a simple home audit and discover easy ways to cut their households energy, water and waste bills. “The average Australian household uses approximately 6.5 Megawatts of electricity each year which costs $1,755 on top of fixed charges from electricity

2015 calendar

Welcome to the fifth edition of the Heritage Calendars

We would like to thank the local businesses that have sponsored our calendar over the past four years. In particular, Susan Della Franca has been an integral part of the process, formatting the calendars and working with the sponsors to bring our series to fruition. This is our last calendar in a series of five. We have covered the timber industry, railway, transport, agriculture, and will finish with apple labels and brands. The aim of the calendars has been to provide insight into the lifestyle of early settlers, giving our readers a taste of the past. We hope you enjoy our final calendar portraying the vivid colour of the fruit labels of Western Australia. These individual labels were stamped with the local growers’ personal details and then the boxes were dispatched to the metro markets or exported overseas. The theme of this edition embodies a fundamental part of Pickering Brook’s heritage, which is the fruit industry that shaped the culture of the area. Please enjoy the final segment of our series. The calendars will be on sale at the up and coming Karragullen Expo on 11 October. Please visit www.karragullenexpo.org.au for more information about the event. We are always looking for new members who would like to be involved and help in our heritage group. It costs $20 to join the group and all proceeds go to preserving our history. If you would like to make a donation to the Pickering Brook Heritage Group Inc., please check our website for bank account details. All money goes towards the preservation of our heritage of this area. To find out about our open days and other annual functions, please go to our website at www. pickeringbrook. com.au. You can also send us an email to be on our mailing list for future functions at info@ pickeringbrook. com.au or contact our web designer, Gordon, on 9293 8338. For any other information, please contact Beverley on 0418 923 970 or Susan on 9293 8185. It can be a real thrill to find a gem of history from our past!

Camillo resident helps shine a light on male depression with Aussie rock What does it take for a man to pull himself back from the brink of death? It’s a question Camillo resident Graeme Cross is exploring in the Aussie pub rock musical Merry Go Round, premiering at Belmont’s Latvian Centre Theatre this October. Written and directed by Bree Vreedenburgh, it’s a showcase of Aussie music classics framing the story of Alan who is trying to get his life back on track after a suicide attempt. He is sent to a therapy group led by the ever-cheerful Tim and encounters a sweet-natured junkie, someone with post-traumatic stress disorder, an older lady overcoming the death of her husband, a woman recovering from an abusive relationship and another person described as “beyond help”. Cross plays Mr Anderson, Alan’s boss. “Although Merry Go Round is a musical, Mr Anderson doesn’t sing or dance, which I think is fortunate for me.” First stepping up to the stage in 1994 in The Glass Menagerie, Cross has since performed in numerous productions with Ipswich Little, Nash and Townsville Little Theatres. In 2000 and 2001, he was named best actor at the Cement Box Theatre’s annual BugFest held annually at the University of Queensland and worked as a theatre technician for the Town of Port Hedland in 2005. In 2012, Cross appeared in Who Knows at Garrick Theatre and has also performed in Fairytale of Sorts at the Midland Junction Arts Centre and Schoolies and Mutts with ARENAarts. Director Bree Vreedenburgh said Merry Go Round is about beating depression, asking for help, rising above adversity and showing that people who have mental illnesses are the same as the rest of us. “My inspiration to write the show came from my own experiences living with depression, as well as learning about how other people deal with discussing it,” she said. “I’ll talk to anyone about my experiences but I’ve found there are people who still don’t understand mental illness and think it’s a

taboo topic, happy to sweep it under the carpet.” After hearing a radio discussion where one of the younger male presenters said “musicals weren’t his thing”, Vreedenburgh set about finding a way to make them appealing to 25 to 40-year-old Australian males. Merry Go Round plays at 8pm, October 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25 with 2pm matinees October 12 and 19. Tickets are $20, $16 concession or $15 each for groups of 10 or more – book through trybooking.com or call 0421 084 226. Opening night is World Mental Health Day and also the closing event for WA Mental Health Week (www.waamh.org.au) with doors opening from 7pm. Part proceeds from the show go the WA Men’s Shed Association and Enterprise 33, an organisation that focuses on men’s suicide prevention and delivers postsuicide assistance for families. The Latvian Centre Theatre is at 60 Cleaver Terrace, Belmont.

testimonial 23 July 2014 Dear Maggie and Team, Patrick, Jo and Linda, Gazing at calm waters from our new home is a far cry from the stress of selling - a process commenced with you and your team in May, quite a journey! You listened, you cared, showed understanding, and those qualities along with your warmth and integrity, your personal and professional tenacity, all assisted us to come through with flying colours. Your scrupulous attention to detail, dependability and reassurance meant we were kept informed in a timely, fastidious way, essential to servicing our own needs. You certainly did go the extra mile and that felt like a genuine community gesture rather than a commercial one. We had contact from every one of your team and it felt good to know there were so many people behind us. Thank you all. We cannot recommend your services sufficiently to reflect all that you did, culminating in a personal card of congratulations and a PAGE 32 – © Kiwi Enterprises (WA) P/L as the Trustee of the Newland Family Trust t/as The Valley Reporter
