Handel’s Messiah at Lincoln Center 48th Annual Holiday Concert at Avery Fisher Hall

New

All Hail Hallelujah! The crowning jewel to every holiday season, Handel’s Messiah is perhaps the most performed piece of classical music in all of history. Be moved by the deeply touching Hallelujah chorus as you witness the New York Philharmonic in the cathedral of music, Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center. The opening chords of the “Hallelujah Chorus” are the most recognizable sounds of music the world over, bringing audiences to their feet upon the first few notes. The standing chorus custom was born in 1743 when King George II leapt to his feet, protocol bringing all his courtiers to stand up as well. This tradition still “stands” today! From your orchestra seating, the iconic music will bring the holiday spirit to life. You’ll also sing the praises of the delicious food during a post-theater lunch at Thaila Restaurant. Hallelujah!
