Important Reservation Information TRAVEL PROTECTION PROGRAM
If a guest is unable to travel due to illness or other health issues, The Upper Class Travel Protection program provides a refund for the cost of any trip, minus the price of the Protection. The refund will be made upon receipt of a doctor’s note. The note must state that, based on an office visit, the guest was not able to travel. The note must be signed by the doctor and dated on or before the trip’s departure date.
One-Day Tours: Guests may cancel reservations up to 30 days prior to departure on one-day motor coach tour for a full credit, minus any unrecoverable charges (i.e. Theater tickets). There will be no credit or refund for any cancellation made after this time, unless The Upper Class Travel Protection has been purchased and the Protection terms have been complied with. Credits are valid for 12 months from the date issued.
The Upper Class Travel Protection is available for purchase within seven days of making your reservation, but not less than 30 days or more prior to travel.. Claims must be received within 14 days after the departure date of the tour and are available for cancellations due to medical reasons only. Once purchased, it is non-refundable and nontransferable. The fee does not cover any changes in tour prices which arise from an individual’s traveling companion electing to cancel prior to departure. In this case, the price difference will be deducted from the refund of the person who cancels. Division of these charges between the passengers involved is solely their responsibility.
Multiple-Day Tours: Guests may cancel reservations up to 90 days prior to departure on a multiday motor coach tour for a full credit, minus any unrecoverable charges (i.e. Theater tickets). There will be no credit or refund for any cancellation made after this time, unless The Upper Class Travel Protection has been purchased and the Travel Protection terms have been complied with. Credits are valid for 12 months from the date issued.
WINTER WEATHER PROTECTION PROGRAM The Upper Class understands winter weather may throw a wrench in even the best-laid travel plans. We don’t want any of our guests to feel uncomfortable when traveling to our departure locations due to inclement winter weather. For your peace of mind, we are happy to offer you an option to protect your tour with our Winter Weather Protection Program. The Winter Weather Protection Program allows our guests to cancel a tour for a full credit toward future travel if snowfall of more than 2” inches occurs within 12 hours prior to your tour’s departure. Snowfall is measured by the National Weather Service officially published snowfall for White Plains, NY. The Winter Weather Protection Program is available on tours during the months of December through March and is designated by the Winter Weather Protection Program icon on each individual trip. Winter Weather Protection for an additional $15 on trips under $100, or 15% of the trip price on trips of $100 or more and must be purchased within seven days of making your reservation, but not less than 30 days or more prior to travel.
The Upper Class, LLC is not responsible for events cancelled out of our control. Where possible, The Upper Class will make efforts to secure alternate arrangements at our discretion. If The Upper Class, LLC is provided a rain check for a cancelled event, the rain check becomes the property of the traveler and The Upper Class assumes no further responsibility. Our gateway to the Adirondacks, begin your escape in Albany, the second oldest capital city in the country. With your expert guide, tour the city’s historic sections, the Empire State Plaza and of course, the soaring New York State Capitol Building. After seeing your tax dollars at work, get a taste of Albany with lunch at the Pump Room, a city landmark. Venturing into Glens Falls, experience our first foray to the 46th Annual Adirondack Balloon Festival! Get an up close look at different hot air balloons. Walk inside them, talk to the balloon pilots and learn about the art of ballooning! It’s a balloonlovers celebration with music, food and mountain views! If weather permits, we’ll even witness a twilight balloon lift-off! Finish the day with a welcome dinner at The Log Jam Restaurant before turning in at the Queensbury Hotel, your home for the next three nights.
Day 2 – Go For The Gold (B, D)
Be champion for the day on a guided tour of Lake Placid’s Olympic Park! Go 120 meters up, to the top of the Ski Jump, learn about training programs for future Olympians and tour the inside the 1980 Olympic Arena, the historic site of USA’s Miracle on Ice! Enjoy the quaint town, famous for patriotic charm and great shopping, with time for lunch on your own. Return to Glens Falls in time for the Balloon Festival Lift Off! Witness more than 100 balloons fill the air. A once-in-a-lifetime experience, don’t miss this spectacular aerial event, with the balloons flying overhead en masse! This is usually the perfect time of year for balloon activity, but Mother Nature must cooperate. All balloon lift offs are dependent on weather. Dinner is a sweet and savory event at Sweet Basil’s, a local favorite.
Day 3 – Breathtaking Daybreak (B, L) 100 balloons ascending together in the early dawn light – a spectacular sight many only dream about! More than 100 balloons will take to the sky, coordinated with the sunrise! Don’t worry, if the weather doesn’t look promising, we’ll sleep in. After the daybreak lift off, head back to the hotel for breakfast and time to relax before heading to Lake George. Board the Lac du Saint Sacrement, a classic lake cruiser featuring expert narration, open air decks and climate controlled lounges. Enjoy lunch and entertainment in the elegant dining room where every seat has a view of the lake! Spend the afternoon exploring the charming town of Lake George. This evening, watch the final balloon lift off of the festival and enjoy the festival’s attractions, including the famous Craft Fair.
