As a growing multicultural city, Houston residents speak more than 90 languages, and it also has one of the youngest populations in the country due to the influx of immigrants in the state. The “black� immigrant population has increased fivefold since 1980. Consequently, developing effective engagement campaigns require robust consideration and an authentic conversation with people of African decent based on culture and nationality not simply complexion. Tré Nation Brand Services. Research confirms that African-Americans identify strongly with their cultural legacy, and are proud of their ethnicity, in ways that the average American citizen is not. Where less than half (48%) of Americans as a whole agree that their ethnicity is a significant part of their identity, some 7 in 10 African-Americans say the same. As well, when asked whether they were proud of their ethnic identity 82% of African-Americans responded positively, compared to 70% of the wider American population. Tré understands this engagement need and is a platform built with researched capacity to address this unique fact.

African-Americans report that they face more discrimination than other groups, and they also believe that people sharing their ethnicity have to overcome more disadvantage than other ethnic groups.

April 2020: Census takers begin visiting college students who live on campus, people living in senior centers, and others who live among large groups of people. Census takers also begin conducting quality check interviews to help ensure an accurate count.
