Project Vintage Runway brought the issue of homelessness to the red carpet in the heart of The Design District to benefit the UGM Dallas Center of Hope Women and Children’s Shelter. Over 550 guests viewed breathtaking creations by some of DFW’s most creative and popular designers. During the course of the evening, Dallas fashion connoisseurs enjoyed mingling with Venny Etienne, Top Ten Designer on Bravo’s Project Runway. T H E G I F T O F WAT E R As temperatures rise this summer, our need to support additional people looking for food and shelter increases. Many of the families that come to UGM Dallas Center of Hope Women and Children’s Shelter have been living in their cars. With temperatures in Texas reaching dangerous levels, it’s important that they have a safe place to get out of the heat.

When people are hot and thirsty, we provide cool water, food and shelter. UGM Dallas also shares the love of Christ, which is the living water. You can help us support homeless individuals this summer by donating, volunteering and praying.

PROJECT TIMOTHY: BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT UGM Dallas Center of Hope Women and Children’s Shelter will be hosting a community fair on Friday, August 16th to prepare the children for back to school. Activities will kick off at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 3:00 p.m. School aged children will receive a backpack filled with school supplies and a bible. The team will pray for those in attendance.

Donations of school supplies, clothing, shoes, or services, such as haircuts, are being accepted. Vendors are invited to set up booths that focus on health, nutrition, hygiene, and finance.

ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC HONORS UGM DALLAS LEGEND UGM Dallas will host the 3rd Annual William M. Thompson Memorial Golf Classic on Monday, September 23rd at Bear Creek Golf Club in Dallas. The annual tournament is held to honor one of UGM’s greatest leaders, William “Bill” Thompson. The fundraising event is the perfect opportunity to put together a team of friends or business colleagues and enjoy the beautiful greens at Bear Creek.

There will be a chance to win a brand new Chevrolet, sponsored by The Thompson Group Classic Chevrolet. Sponsorships are still available through August 1, 2019. For more information or to register a team, visit ugmdallas.org.

C E L E B R AT I N G 7 0 Y E A R A N N I V E R SA RY W I T H M A N D I SA American Idol Contestant and award-winning Christian recording artist, Mandisa, hosted a private meet and greet for the residents from the UGM Dallas Center of Hope Women and Children’s Shelter, disciples from Calvert Place Men’s Shelter, volunteers and staff as part of their 70-year anniversary. She later had everyone on their feet singing along during her concert. Special thanks to Interstate Battery and Salem Communications for such a wonderful event.

V I N TA G E R U N B E N E F I T T I N G U G M D A L L A S C E N T E R O F H O P E W O M E N & C H I L D R E N ’ S S H E LT E R Participants are digging through their closet and lacing up their sneakers as they prepare for the one mile walk and 5k Vintage Run. Prizes will be presented for the best vintage outfits, pet outfits and top finishers in the walk/run. The event will be held on August 31, 2019, at Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge. The one mile walk will begin at 8:30 a.m and the 5k run will start at 9:00 a.m. The event is family and pet-friendly. Registration and details can be found at ugmdallas.org.

LoveLikeTy is a non-proďŹ t foundation based in Dallas,TX. The foundation was developed shortly after the passing of Ty Hunter Marlin.

Ty was only 23 years old when he passed away in a tragic accident.

However, it was through this painful time that we realized the incredible power of loving others.

The mission at LoveLikeTy is to be good stewards of the grace of God by loving individuals, sharing truth and believing in the power of one to move many. We are currently partnering with Union Gospel Mission, one of the largest homeless shelters in Dallas.

A team of LiveLikeTy volunteers recently took the opportunity to help paint at UGM Dallas Center of Hope Women and Children’s Shelter. It was an amazing opportunity to give back, just like Ty would have done.
