A series of proposals for the establishment of 7-Eleven stores throughout the Town of Brookhaven are cropping up in increasing numbers. âThere are an awful lot of proposals for 7-Eleven applications â weâre looking at dozens in the Town of Brookhaven,â Fifth District Councilman Neil Foley said in an interview last week. So how many is too many?

In what some have called the political upset of the year, Larry Zacarese won the Republican Primary for Sheriï¬ against party nominee New York State Republican Senator Philip Boyle. Zacarese took 56% of the vote to Boyleâs 44%. Zacarese campaigned on his law enforcement credentials and blasted Boyle for having no real connection to the law
enforcement community. Zacarese currently serves as the Second in Command for Police at the State University at Stony Brook. He is a former New York City Police Oï¬cer and paramedic. In addition to winning the Republican primary, Zacarese also won the Reform Party primary giving him a second line on the ballot Larry Zacarese
