Kim Barnes Arico, a former longtime resident of Mastic Beach and Head Coach at University of Michigan coached her team to victory over Georgia Tech in triple overtime and won the National Championship by a ï¬nal score of 89 to 79. Kim is a graduate of William Floyd High School and Montclair State University. She is a member of Floydâs Athletic Hall of Fame and has been honored as a Distinguished Alumnus at William Floyd. She graduated as Scholar Athlete at Montclair State University. Kim has been coaching for over 20 years
and has established individual and team records at Fairleigh Dickerson, New Jersey Institute of Tehnology, Adelphi University, St. Johnâs University and the University of Michigan. While coaching at St. Johnâs her team had the distinction of beating U Conn and stopping their home winning streak at 99 home winning games. Kim resides in Saline, Michigan with her husband Larry and their three children Trevor, Emma and Cecelia. She is the proud daughter of George Barnes and Maureeen Barressi.
