BALLOONS OVER BEND 2021
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS One special weekend every summer, the morning skies above Bend come alive with the entrancing rainbow colors of hot air balloons. After cancelling in 2020, we are excited to bring back this whimsical display! This will be a weekend to remember with balloon launches each day at dawn; watch the magic happen as support crews do their part to help the balloons rise into the sky to greet the morning sun. Head down to the Night Glow for an evening of music, food and glow-in-thedark balloons. Take the kids to the Balloon Blast race for a chance to stack up some points in our Kid’s Rock the Races series!
FRIDAY JULY 23 Sunrise
Gather at High Desert Middle School to watch hot air balloons launch up into the Central Oregon sky!
4-4:30pm
Balloon Blast Kid’s Race at COCC. This obstacle course is for kids ages 3-10. Parents and guardians are encouraged to cheer on the little athletes as they tackle all of the obstacles!
5-10pm
Night Glow begins at COCC. For those that don’t want to rise and shine for the launches, the Night Glow brings another opportunity to view hot air balloons up close. Balloons glow around 8:30pm. Show up early to grab a spot and enjoy a beverage and a snack from the food trucks while watching the balloons light up the night!
SATURDAY JULY 24 Sunrise
Gather at High Desert Middle School to watch hot air balloons launch up into the Central Oregon sky!
5pm
Redmond Night Glow - As the sun sets over Redmond, three hot air balloons are set up at the Deschutes County Fair and Expo Center near the center circle in the middle of the crowd and inflated for all to see.

*The balloons will start setting up at sunrise (about 6am), with an estimated launch time of 6:45-7am (depending on weather). We suggest showing up around 6:15am to grab a spot, and to ensure you don’t miss the launch.
