What do you do with a

very large derelict building that was built on the original pitch of the Al Ain Amblers? For the Executive Principal of Al Ain English Speaking School, this was an easy question to answer! “ “Naturally you convert it into a radio and TV studio, with two Apple Mac Suites, an Engineering Design Technology workshop, with an additional Home Economics Suite; don’t forget you add an automobile garage plus a falconry unit”! Andrew Thomas, replies. The building in question is a huge two storey building that once housed over 20 teaching staff on the school site. Following the completion of two brand new off-site blocks of flats several years ago, the old school building was left empty with Thomas’ eye firmly fixed on it! “We wanted to offer something different here at AAESS, and enrich both the curriculum during and after school. We are excited that the falconry unit will bring more local tradition to the school as well as teach our students husbandry of these magnificent creatures.
