Like a lot of knee pain sufferers, Wilson Totten tried to put up with aches, pains and exhaustion as he went about managing his family’s farm near Balcarres, Saskatchewan. But when the pain got so bad that he faced having to give up farming altogether, he looked around for answers. He found them 250 miles to the south at Trinity’s Joint Replacement Center in Minot. Now he’s back on his feet, looking forward to farming his land for many years to come.

Williston is currently in the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan. We need the public’s input! The City is hosting meetings to solicit input from a broad-based representation of city residents and property owners on issues and concerns related to the issues being addressed in the updated Plan. The updated Plan will address future land use, housing, parks, development, public services, beautification, and other issues related to future growth and quality of life. The meetings will consist of an opening presentation and a public input process called electronic polling, and follow-up discussion regarding other issues that arise during the meeting. The purpose of using electronic polling is to allow each individual to have anonymous input on the important issues facing the city and the direction in which the city should go with its planning efforts. A hand-held “electronic voting device” is issued to participants when they arrive. During the meeting, participants “vote” on the importance of various issues related to the community. Each person’s “voice” is equally represented through the process of electronic polling. The results of the polling process will be presented to participants at the meeting.
