the news in the noise, the voice of the voiceless, and the light in the dark.

Fake news is quite prevalent in today's society of sharing and posting. According to the University of Michigan (2024), fake news is defined as those news stories that are false: the story itself is fabricated, with no verifiable facts, sources, or quotes. And journalists-journalists help combat this.

This age brought about social media and digital services; the need for print materials significantly decreased, replaced by PDF files and documents. Newspapers, magazines, and issues are digitized and displayed on screens instead of inked on paper.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has spread like wildfire in recent years, evolving even less. With just a few clicks, it can generate articles, analyze data, and recreate real-life events, further blurring the lines between fact and fiction. This rapid development raises a crucial question: What does this mean for the future of journalism?

Some fear that Al will render journalists obsolete, automating news production and replacing humans with machines. With its ability to create content in mere seconds, fake news can be made with alarming ease, spreading misinformation faster than it can be corrected.

Yet, journalism is more than just assembling words on a page. Al is fast-yes. Efficient-definitely. But journalism was never meant to be rushed. It was meant to be thorough and human.

Journalism is not dying; it is evolving. To keep up, journalists must evolve with it. The goal isn't to compete with machines but to use them smartly, carefully, and responsibly. The world, a static blur with much to dissect, needs real journalists now more than ever.

From Struggle to Success: How Friendship and Teamwork Led to Math Quiz Bee Victory

For many students, Mathematics is a challenging subject, filled with complex numbers, formulas, and tricky calculations But for one Math Quiz Bee winner, his journey to victory was not just about numbers–it was about friendship, teamwork, and dedication which surpassed his doubts and apprehension.

Unlike many Math competition awardees, Cipher G Trovela, a 13-year-old student from class 8D, never considered himself a math enthusiast, let alone a top contender Known among his peers for his creativity and teamwork rather than mathematical prowess, Cipher always viewed numbers as a challenge rather than an interest “Math has always been an opposing subject for me,” he admitted “I had a really hard time trying to understand calculations and problems due to the complexity of numbers and letters ”

Cipher was initially hesitant when his teammates encouraged him to join the competition. He knew he wasn’t the most well-equipped in Math, and competing in the subject felt daunting However, the opportunity to bond with his friends and the new experiences it promised ultimately swayed his decision. “I joined the competition because of my friends. They wanted me to be part of their group since they were missing a competitor “Since I was close to them, I decided to accept their offer despite Math being an intermediate subject for me,” he shared.

Despite the challenges that Math posed, Cipher and his teammates were determined to push through and give their best effort. Their preparation involved reviewing past lessons, watching tutorial videos, solving various problems, and summarizing key concepts “This way, I could understand the topic more easily and prepare myself better for the competition,” he explained.

However, what truly set their team apart was their strong sense of teamwork Recognizing each other's strengths and weaknesses, they devised a strategy that allowed them to work efficiently as a unit “We cooperated by working together as a team First, we focused on finding questions that were easy to solve, then we helped each other with the quotations, methods, and other calculations. This approach not only boosted our confidence but also made it easier for us to tackle the more difficult problems,” he recalled

When the day of the competition arrived, nerves were at an all-time high. “I felt nervous and anxious since Math wasn’t exactly my strongest subject,” Cipher admitted However, the support and encouragement of his teammates made all the difference Surrounded by familiar faces who believed in him, he was able to push past his doubts and focus on the competition With teamwork and determination, they faced the challenge head-on, proving that perseverance and collaboration could turn even the most daunting tasks into meaningful experiences.

Through hard work, collaboration, and the encouragement of friends, what once seemed like an impossible win became a moment of triumph. Even though Chiper had difficulties, he was able to push through and make a path for their group to ace the competition, placing 3rd in the overall rankings

What began as a reluctant decision turned into a transformative journey of growth and camaraderie The Math Quiz Bee was more than just a competition it became a testament to resilience, teamwork, and the strength of friendship. As Cipher reflected, “Joining them not only deepened my bond with my teammates but also strengthened my understanding of both friendship and teamwork ” In the end, victory wasn’t just measured in points or trophies but in the unbreakable bonds forged and the lessons that would last a lifetime.

The zenith of humanity’s mind and gears working. Yet reaching such a point

The thirst for knowledge is still insatiable.

So many questions that can be asked, Answered with yet more of it, Curiosity, never leaving the human’s minds Despite reaching the planets and far beyond

It does not matter how much they find out, Just to relieve their thirst for knowledge, After all, we are only fragile souls. Bound by feelings we cannot ignore

Masking it through different facades, No one can avoid feeling love. Especially meeting someone like you, Whose eyes and smile remain pure.

From the day we first met, To when we accepted each other despite the pain. Whether it be the galaxy, ocean, or heaven above, Through the cosmos and beyond, I love you.

e armchair She forced down her concern This was the unanswered questions. No more listening to the same om the unknown They would have time to talk later when

The hallways seemed longer than usual as she walked At last, she reached her destination Before her were two, locked metal doors sealed ten years ago since the incident No tool, no machine, no inscription, and no theory had ever worked

Until now.

She smiled as the markings on the door glowed a vivid blue. The two doors opened, basking the room with light Inside, the realm looked similar to their headquarters, and yet not The walls were pristine white, the hallways empty, as if this version had remained frozen in time Dianne immediately spotted a figure in a white coat Gray hair tied into a loose bun Dark brown eyes framed by glasses Brows pinched, as they always were

"Dr Kellyan!”

“Dianne!” There was excitement in his gaze They quickly widened “ You shouldn't be here ”

She smiled “I know But I've figured it out The runes, the mechanisms, everything We can go now ”

His expression darkened “Where's Thomas?"

"He kept you sealed here, Dr Kellyan ” She swallowed “But I took the key We can leave ”

Dr Kellyan paled “You have to go Now ”

Dianne frowned “What? No This is what we've been waiting for When we get back, everyone will understand that sealing this place was a mistake That your research was worth it ”

He gripped her shoulders. “Dianne, listen to me,” he said hoarsely. The lights flickered.

“They didn't just seal the portal because I never came back ”

The ground shook.

“The portal was sealed because it had to be ”

Dark tendrils shot out from the ground. They climbed and stretched along the walls, pulsing alive Dr Kellyan walked back several paces “Run as fast as you can, Dianne Don't look back ”

“I can't leave you!”

“I’ll hold it off for as long as I can Go!”

Dianne took off There was the sound of gunshots in the distance Her fingers fumbled in her pockets as she reached the doors She grasped the key with shaking hands and jammed it into the keyhole The doors opened with a groan, and just there on the other side was home

Something yanked her back A tendril had wrapped itself around her ankle She kicked at it frantically. The doors were closing. She couldn't stay here. She had to go back-

A hand grabbed hers firmly She gasped

“Dr. Kellyan?”

He pulled her to her feet before the tendril could strike again They stumbled through the doors in time, the doors sealing shut with a loud clank

Dianne crashed onto the ground Pain surged in her limbs, but it didn't matter She had escaped She was back And Dr Kellyan was with her She didn't stand up, but just laid there breathless an arm draped over her eyes

“You did well,” said Dr Kellyan

“Did I?” She asked, voice small more to herself than to him She sat up, immediately flinching from pain. “That could've gone awry.”

“But you also got us out,” he said with a smile

“Oh. I see.”

There were scrapes on his lab coat, but other than that, he seemed unharmed That was good, she thought That was all that mattered

Dr Kellyann was brushing off his coat when he noticed her stare He raised a brow “Is something the matter?”

“It’s nothing. It’s just that.. for a moment..” she trailed off. She seemed to have forgotten something, though she couldn't quite recall what it was

“Hm?”

“Sorry, I keep thinking you might have had brown eyes before ” She let out a self-conscious laugh “But that's not right, is it? They've always been blue ”

He smiled.

“Silly girl, what other color would they be?”

REKURSYON

“Silva, isang tanong muna. Paano mo magagamit ang antimatter? Mas mabuti kung hindi pang-digmaan.” Napaisip si Silva. “Bakit ko sasabihin?” Tanong nito.

To read is to comprehend, to comprehend is to take to heart, and to take to heart is to love. Such is the way of a reader. To write is to express, to express is to share, and to share is to love, such is the way of a writer The reader and the writer, both sharing love, that is thewayofliterature.

This year flew by faster than we expected. Between projects, events, deadlines, and spontaneous group panics, we somehow made it through — and we made it count. Grade 10 wasn’t perfect, but it was ours. We learned a lot, laughed a lot, and probably complained a lot too, but every part of it helped shape the year into something unforgettable. To everyone who shared the journey thanks for being part of the chaosandthefun.Here'stothenextstep."
