GOLF AT THE PRESERVE

The Santa Lucia Preserve is home to an award-winning Tom Fazio course, renowned for its stunning strategic design and its seamless integration within the natural landscape. Set amidst 20,000 acres of vast wilderness, the course offers inspiring vistas at every turn, with elevated tees on most holes that make each round as dramatic as the last.
The course’s layout thoughtfully incorporates the rolling hills, oak meadows, and pristine terrain that define The Preserve’s unique character, delivering a pure golf experience. Along with a vibrant calendar of tournaments and social events, an immaculate practice facility, and exceptional dining, members enjoy a true sense of community, united in their passion for both the game and the outdoors.
TRAILS & WILDERNESS

The Santa Lucia Preserve offers a vast and varied landscape for outdoor exploration, with nearly 100 miles of private trails and 42 miles of scenic roads that wind through rolling savannas, ancient redwoods, and oak-studded hillsides. Ideal for horseback riding, leisurely strolls, and guided nature hikes, the trail system provides unparalleled access to boundless wilderness, where wildlife sightings and breathtaking vistas are part of the everyday experience.
For cycling enthusiasts, The Preserve’s winding private roads offer exhilarating rides through dramatic elevations, sweeping valleys, and beneath shady forest canopies.

EQUESTRIAN LIFE
Full-service boarding, riding experiences, and dynamic events keep the heritage of horsemanship alive.
The Preserve draws inspiration from the rich equestrian heritage of the region, with generations of riders having explored these stunning Central Coast landscapes. Our multidiscipline facilities honor this legacy, blending Western traditions with opportunities for English riders. Members and their horses enjoy access to well-appointed boarding barns, spacious pastures, multiple arenas, expertly maintained trails that stretch across nearly 100 miles of diverse terrain, and round-the-clock care from our on-site team.
What’s more, you don’t have to own a horse to ride, as the club maintains its own string of trail horses. Whether riding a club horse or one of their own, members can take advantage of guided trail rides, lessons, clinics, and a diverse calendar of equestrian events.
Open to all disciplines and skill levels, The Preserve honors the timeless tradition of riding while offering modern amenities for today’s equine enthusiast.

WELLNESS & RECREATION
Fitness programs, pools, tennis, lake activities, and holistic wellness offerings.
Wellness is at the core of The Preserve lifestyle, with a wealth of amenities, events, and outdoor activities on offer to support physical health, mental clarity, and relaxation. For the fitness enthusiasts, our Sports Center, yoga studio, and pilates barn play host to daily group exercise classes with expert instruction.
Opportunities for recreation are equally diverse. Members can enjoy a friendly match of tennis or pickleball, or join in on a spirited softball game. The 18-acre lake offers exclusive access to stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boating. For a more peaceful escape, members can experience glamping under the stars or enjoy an afternoon of fishing. Our aquatic center, featuring a 2-story waterslide, is ideal for lap swimming, relaxing hot tub soaks, or making a splash year-round. Our one-acre organic garden provides a tranquil space for sustainable gardening, where members can harvest fresh produce, flowers, and herbs.
FAMILY & KIDS’ PROGRAMS

The Preserve’s yearly calendar is designed with multi-generational families in mind. Our adventure camps provide children with the opportunity to explore the great outdoors, learn new skills, and develop a lasting appreciation for the environment.
Throughout the year, families can enjoy events such as the Spring Festival, Memorial Day and 4th of July BBQs, the annual Dog Show, pumpkin carving and costume contests, and the Fandango equestrian competitions, complete with a lively Barn Dance for all ages. Additional activities like family golf events, including “Pizza, Pinot, & Putting” and Glow Golf offer fun for the kids and kids-at-heart, all aimed at creating lasting family memories.
DINING
Farm-to-table cuisine, wine tastings, and signature gatherings across picturesque venues.
This ranch has a grand tradition of hospitality, and we honor that heritage by hosting a delightful blend of refined and casual experiences, all set against breathtaking backdrops. The Hacienda is the heart of our culinary and social offerings, where members can enjoy dinner in the madrone-studded courtyard or patio overlooking grand hillsides. Special occasions set within our organic garden provide a true farm-to-table experience showcasing the freshest ingredients.
For a casual bite or a morning pick-me-up, members can enjoy a visit to The Nest Coffee House, a charming gathering place. Daily lunch service at the Golf Clubhouse provides relaxed yet refined options, featuring stunning views of the 18th green and first tee. Throughout the year, members can partake in monthly get-togethers, such as wine tastings and a members social hour, all designed to foster connection.

Stay in one of the 16 thoughtfully appointed rooms in our historic 1920s Hacienda, where bed-and-breakfast-style accommodations provide a cozy, intimate retreat. For a more adventurous experience, enjoy either of our two seasonal glamping tents or a charming shepherd’s wagon by the lake, each offering a distinctive way to connect with nature while enjoying the comforts of home.

LEGACY
Legacy Membership offers a unique opportunity to create lasting memories across generations. This membership extends privileges to the primary member(s), their parents, children and their spouses, as well as grandchildren and their spouses—without age limitations. Legacy Membership is refundable and transferable, ensuring that future generations can share in the experiences that make this place so special, now and for years to come.
TRADITIONAL
Traditional Membership is a fantastic opportunity for individuals and couples who desire exclusive access to The Preserve’s amenities without the need for more broad family access. It is also an excellent choice for those with younger children. This membership extends privileges to the primary member(s), as well as children and their spouses up to age 25. Traditional Membership is non-refundable and nontransferable, with select opportunities to upgrade to Legacy.
NATIONAL
National Membership is perfect for avid golfers who reside outside the local area and wish to enjoy exclusive access to The Preserve’s world-class golf course. Geographically restricted to those who do not own, rent, or lease property within Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Santa Clara counties, this membership extends privileges to the primary member(s) as well as their children and spouses up to age 25. Ideal for those who visit periodically or are looking to explore the club before committing to a more comprehensive membership, National Membership offers a flexible and inviting way to enjoy the golf experience at The Preserve.
SOCIAL
Ranch Social Membership is ideal for those who want to enjoy the full spectrum of outdoor activities, wellness programs, and community events without the desire for golf. This membership extends privileges to the primary member(s) and their children and spouses up to age 25. Ranch Social is restricted to those who do not own property within The Preserve but still desire access to the unique offerings of the club.

The following menu of membership options spans from the golf-centric to the wellness-focused, providing access to select club amenities that most meet your specific interests.
THE PRESERVE GOLF CLUB THE RANCH CLUB
Legacy and Traditional memberships cannot be mixed with other categories (e.g. Legacy Golf with Traditional Ranch). National and Social may be combined.
Available to those without property ownership/rental within Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Santa Clara counties.
Privileges include: Full access to the golf course, clubhouse, and related golf club facilities; Dining at the Golf Clubhouse and the Hacienda, and access to The Nest Coffee House; Access to golf tournaments, events, and services (Legacy and Traditional members may receive priority access to certain tournaments and events); National members may bring and sponsor guests.
Ranch Club Usage Policy: National members are extended select access to lodging. While lodging in club facilities, National members may use The Ranch Club’s other amenities and facilities. Inquire with the Membership Team for further details. The Ranch Club Board may, at any time, restrict, change, or do away with this policy. Use of The Ranch Club’s facilities is in no way a guaranteed privilege of National Membership at The Preserve Golf Club.
