THE BAILLIE VEIL, generously supported by Charles and Marilyn Baillie, floats above Koerner Hall. Evoking a musical instrument, it has been internationally acclaimed for its extraordinary beauty as well as its acoustical excellence. Hear the Canadian premiere of Hussain’s tabla concerto, Peshkar, and the world premiere of Patitucci’s Hypocracy for orchestra and jazz trio, featuring Danilo Pérez on piano, Brain Blade on drums, and Patitucci on bass. The concert will open with an improvisation by Hussain with this phenomenal trio.

Danilo Pérez’s Global Messengers and Allison Au Quartet Saturday, January 25, 2020 8pm | KH Postlude Performance Panamanian jazz pianist and composer, Danilo Pérez, leads musicians from Palestine, Greece, Jordan, and Panama, with varied musical traditions and instrumentation to match. One to watch, Juno Awardwinning saxophonist Au, opens the show. The Royal Conservatory has commissioned both Pérez and Au to write new pieces, which will premiere at this concert.

• A quiet room in Koerner Hall, separated from the audience, for people with sensory considerations, those on the autism spectrum, ADD/ADAHD, or a learning disability. Concerts are watched through a glass window, with controllable volume.

Many of our Koerner Hall classical concerts start with a musical appetizer, where the main concert is preceded by a short performance by talented students of The Glenn Gould School and other invited guest artists.

POSTLUDE PERFORMANCES After many Koerner Hall performances, you are invited to enjoy a cocktail, socialize, and hear more wonderful music in the Leslie & Anna Dan Galleria, located directly outside of Koerner Hall. Hear some of the best local artists in Toronto!
