PRAYER GUIDE: PRESENCE

This year we are focusing on what it means to be ALL IN: ALL FLAME in our hearts, homes, church, and community. This specific guide covers five weeks and we will be led in focus and prayer from members of our church’s Presence Team.

“Meanwhile, the fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must never go out. Each morning the priest will add fresh wood to the fire and arrange the burnt offering on it. He will then burn the fat of the peace offerings on it. Remember, the fire must be kept burning on the altar at all times. It must never go out.”

—Leviticus 6:12-13

Even though our house of worship looks very different from what was highlighted in Leviticus, every flip of a switch, strike of a drum, shifting of a camera angle, or release of a word through preaching and prayer, is geared towards cultivating an atmosphere of God’s presence. This month our specific prayer is that out of the overflow of fire cultivation in our hearts and homes, we would see the fire of God in our church never burn out

We also invite you to engage in the Holy Here App to walk and pray. You can download the HOLY HERE app HERE (links are clickable). Lastly, we would love for you to join us in community prayer as a church.

Prayer

ly in love with God

Several years ago, Bob and I were at Morning Star ministries with Rick Joyner. During worship, a young artist went forward and began to paint. We weren’t quite sure what she was painting, but we could sense a holiness about it. An image of a young lady in a white dress appeared, dancing with a man in a tuxedo. It was Jesus dancing with His Church!

It was a sweet reminder that ministry is good. Preaching and teaching are great. Keeping the Word is so important. But in all this, be sure you are spending intimate time with the Lord.

Consider this week’s verse from Zephaniah 3:17. What does it look like to dance with the Lord? Many times my prayer is this: Romance me, O God! Love on me as I am loving on you! Walk with me, hand in hand.

Let God hug you! (The Hebrew word for this is actually devekut) Hug him back! Sit with Him, being still and knowing that He is God! You may ask “When can I dance with God?” When you ’ re good enough? After being saved several years? When you ’ re holy enough? No, you dance with God as soon as you accept His extended Hand.

Point of prayer

Our prayer is that each of us would desires His Presence, His Intimacy, and His Loving Embrace most of all! We are crying out for a “Presence revival”, built around intimacy with the King.

This Week’s Verse

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”

zephaniah 3:17 ESV

Prayer movement

Start with Worship. Tell the Lord how you feel about Him. Thank Him for the way He rejoices over you.

Is there a part of this devotional or verse that surprises you or catches you off guard? How does considering God’s joy, delight, or rejoicing over you shift the way you pray?

pray

Lord, thank you for the invitation to know you. We want to grow deeper in our relationship with you as a church. Remind us of who you are and who we are in you. Don’t let us settle for counterfeits and distractions. Show us and our intercessor teams how to pray and partner with your heart. We do want a revival centered on your tangible presence and love. Thank you for pulling us close and pouring out your presence on us. Amen.

Hosting

Preparing others for encounter

Have you ever felt like you were working alone? I mean, you know others are there, but for some reason, you feel all by yourself. Often, the thankless, difficult jobs feel that way, but that is not the case. There are other people in our church rising early, drinking the entire pot of coffee, going to their assigned areas, checking out the equipment, setting parking up with multicolored cones and signage, etc. Why? What compels them in this routine, some for five, ten, even fifteen years?

The answer is that these servant leaders have learned that it truly is more blessed to give of their time, energies, and themselves sometimes even sacrificially to prepare for those who desperately need to encounter the presence of Yeshua on that given day. They know that to host someone, there must be a time of preparation in order to produce excellence. They steward their roles and tasks to Host the Lord, for He arrives weekly, with and for each of His kids!

Points of prayer

Parking Ministry – More people to share their smiling faces even on the bleakest of days, so that others will encounter His presence.

Shuttles (Carts andVans) – Hands to serve those who serve and those whose morning took a couple of unexpected turns before they even got out of their neighborhood!

Health Ministry – Skilled, trained hands, prepared to handle urgent medical needs, should they occur among our attendees during services.

“In

all things I have shown you an object lesson that by hard work one must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Yeshua, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Acts 20:35 TLV

Prayer movement

Start with Worship. What has the Lord given to you?

Thank Him boldly for what this verse shows us about who He is.

As you consider the ways that our church hosts the presence of God through how we host people, is there a specific area God is highlighting for you to pray over? Is there a person on a particular team that you can cover in prayer this week?

pray pray

Lord, thank you for all the areas you allow us to steward. Cultivating your presence doesn’t just happen within the sanctuary or on the stage. From the moment people walk onto our property, we pray that your love and presence are tangibly felt. We ask that you anoint and bless those who faithfully steward their tasks for your glory. Amen.

Worship/Sound

Sound is seen (or heard) throughout scripture, in praise and worship (Ps. 150:35), in the voice of the Lord / manifestation of his Spirit (Ps. 29:3-4, Rev 1:15, Ac. 2:2), and in awakening (Is. 58:1, Rev 8:6).

Our worship has a sound. Our unity has a sound. Our victory has a sound. Our offering has a sound. Sometimes, our praise is loud. Other times, moments of reflection and intimacy are quiet. In all these ways, we desire to be in tune with God’s voice in every moment.

What if a worship leader begins singing prophetically, but the sound person isn’t in tune, and doesn’t have the volume up? In the same turn, what if a musician is playing something that is distracting to the flow and the sound person isn’t paying attention to the atmosphere? All these areas work together to set the atmosphere for people to encounter the Lord. Our heart is to come together in unity as living stones to bring Him the worship he is pleased with, the worship He is worthy of.

Point of prayer

That we would have an ear to hear the Spirit and prophetic flow in services. That we would mix the sound to compliment and highlight what the Lord wants to do in the room.

This Week’s Verse

“Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.”

Prayer movement

Start with Worship. Release your own cry of Hallelujah!

Thank Him for the way He is reigning in your life.

When we enter into corporate worship, what does God want to hear from you? What is the Lord asking you to lay down in sacrifice and worship at His feet?

pray pray

Lord, thank you for the freedom we have to come together publicly as a church body to worship you. Anoint those who lead us in these gatherings. Let our praise overflow from hearts of gratitude and honor. Let our worship be a pleasing aroma to you. And as you say in your Word, inhabit the praise of your people. Help us as a church to lift your name up high because in doing so, you will draw all people to you. Amen.

God’s message

In the Old Testament, the Ark of the Covenant wasn’t just a beautiful box covered in gold. It was a symbol of God’s presence, His power, and His promise among His people. Wherever the Ark went, the people of God knew God went with them. When it led the way, they found victory. When it rested, they worshiped. When it moved, they followed.

Now here’s what’s amazing, God’s presence isn’t locked in a box anymore. He’s not carried on poles by priests through the wilderness. Today, His presence lives in us. In other words, you are the carrier now. And in our generation, God has given us new tools, new “vessels,” new arks to carry His message. For some of us, that’s a pulpit. For others, it’s a microphone, a guitar, a camera, or a streaming platform. When we hit “Go Live” on a Sunday morning, we ’ re not just broadcasting a service, we ’ re carrying God’s presence beyond the walls.

Every camera angle, every lyric on the screen, every audio mix, every sermon—it all becomes a vehicle for His glory. In the Old Testament, the Levites were responsible for carrying the Ark with reverence and care. Today, we carry the message with the same reverence and intentionality because this isn’t just media…it’s ministry. Just like the Ark went before Israel into battle and into new territory, our livestream goes into into living rooms, into cars, into hospital rooms...into hearts that have never stepped foot in a church building. Let’s carry God’s presence with joy. Because what we carry changes lives.

Point of prayer

Our prayer is for no problems with tech on Sundays and that nothing we do in production hinders what God is doing in the room on Sundays.

This Week’s Verse

“...do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, ”

It may be hard to imagine all the layers that go into a Sunday morning. Ask the Holy Spirit to highlight a specific part of ministry for you to pray over and cover.

pray pray

Lord, at times it is hard to comprehend that, through Jesus, you have made us living temples, vessels that house and carry your glory. Thank you for trusting us with carrying your message beyond ourselves. In the same way, you have positioned and equipped our church to carry your Good News beyond our walls. Please direct and anoint every person and piece of technology involved in spreading your Word. Amen.

Preaching the Word

Maybe you ’ ve sat through a service and thought, “Couldn’t this have been an email?” Let’s be honest, emails are just information, and TED Talks, at their best, offer inspiration. But when the Word is preached, something entirely different happens: impartation. John opens his gospel saying, “The Word became flesh.” Jesus is the divine logic and language of God in a person, both fully God and fully man. In the same way, Scripture is “fully man, ” written by human authors with their own intellect and imagination, and “fully God,” inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error.

When the Word is preached, it’s as if the Word becomes flesh again but in our hearts. The Holy Spirit breathes life into what we hear, strengthens our faith and transforms us from within. So next time you ’ re tempted to think, “Couldn’t this have been an email?”, remember that you ’ re not there for information, but for impartation; to encounter the very presence of God through His Word, by the power of His Spirit.

Point of prayer

For increase of the power of God and the move of the Spirit out of the overflow of the preaching. That hearts and minds would be open to respond to the Word. No stumbling blocks and no foolishness, but that our church would be awakened to the truth and allow it to shape our lives.

This Week’s Verse

“For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.” Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. ”

As we continue to ponder on what it looks like to Build the House, what specific verses is God highlighting to you to put into practice? How is it shaping your life?

pray pray

Lord, thank you that we are free to hear and receive your Word. We pray that your Word would come alive for all who preach—from lessons in Rock Kids Jr. to the pastors who communicate on the stage. We ask for your Word to be released with power and the prophetic. Let the Sword of your Spirit shape our hearts into people who look more and more like you. Amen.
