7. Early German Cloth Art Character, Series I, by Kathe Kruse 17� (43 cm.) All cloth doll with pressed and oil painted complexion, facial features and hair, curls onto his forehead, shaded green eyes with spiral painting, black and brown upper eyeliner, white eyedots, closed mouth with pouting lips, blushed cheeks, stitch-jointed arms, discjointed legs, separately-stitched thumbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Kathe Kruse 1613. Comments: Kathe Kruse, circa 1910. Value Points: very fine early model with original painting, and wearing wonderful original country costume. $2000/2800

8. Early-Period American Golden Mohair Teddy by Ideal 13� (33 cm.) Having a rich golden mohair coat, the teddy has a swivel head with rounded face and protruding rounded snout with brown embroidered nose and mouth, side-stitched ears, black shoe-button eyes, jointed elongated arms with felt paw pads, side-jointed legs with felt paw pads. Very good, few small holes in paw pads. American, Ideal Novelty & Toys, circa 1905. $800/1200
