BAKIT AKO MATATAKOT? Written by: TP Chivas Ayroso Rotaract Club of Greenfields QC
This day, 08th of March 2021, is an empowering day for each and every woman. A woman, who flawlessly develop herself despite social distrust and dubiety. And we would like to ask for Ms. Alicia Keys' words to support this statement "This girl is on fire". Bakit ako matatakot? Nobody should. Men are created congruently to women or even with other gender race. Girls, you should not be fearful because we will end this uphill battle by doing and proving that a woman can go to politics, a woman can be a mother to her country, a woman could build a house and most especially, a woman is always the mother of a man. Woman can bear her child even without seeing it. It means, that woman can fight even though not seeing what will happen next. We should not stop the fight, girls! We will not! The picture posted below, courtesy of Mantle Magazine, shows illustration of the Woman Warriors of the East, including Gabriela Silang, a Filipina who is courageous enough to fight against women discrimination in her time. She is a Filipina woman, maybe like your mother or sister, or possibly, you. Are you afraid to be the next Gabriela? WHO RUN THE WORLD? I am leaving this question unanswered. Fight for women's integrity, rights, and privilege. And if anybody question you, you have to answer with confidence that you are not a manipulative toy, human or an object to use incase others need you to cook, to stitch or teach. To remind you, as you never abuse yourself, do not let others. You have to embrace your sexuality as it shows true self-love. You have to stand firmly against sexuality barriers, we have to push it to the end of the world. Because there are no reasons for you to be afraid. Once again, let me state my question, whole-heartedly and without mental reservation, "BAKIT AKO MATATAKOT?"
