Innovative Recycling Program Makes for a Greener Montgomery

As far back as the 19th century, Montgomery has been a trailblazer and the setting for several seminal moments in our nation's history. Just last month, USA TODAY and 10best.com announced that readers had voted Montgomery the Best Historic City in the nation. The Civil War, the Civil Rights Movement and civil aviation all trace their roots to Montgomery. Now, the Capital of Dreams is first in the green energy and recycling movement thanks to our state-of-the-art mixed waste recycling facility, Infinitus Renewable Energy Park or IREP-Montgomery. About five years ago when we first got into office, we visited the landfill and quickly realized the city's recycling system wasn't meeting current needs. We thought we were recycling, but we really weren't. Huge piles of orange recycling bags littered the landscape. From that point forward, we focused on finding a cost effective solution to reinvigorate recycling in Montgomery, which is not only good for the environment, but good for our citizens as well, as it creates a clean city and more jobs. IREP-Montgomery is an innovator in materials recovery and recycling, the largest facility of its kind in that nation. However, size is not its only selling point; convenience is a crucial aspect. Montgomerians can engage in recycling just by placing waste in their green containers and rolling it to the curb. That's a participation rate of 100%, which is far higher than when we used orange bag. Our modern marvel is also highly efficient and technologically advanced. The facility can process 35 tons of waste per hour and utilizes optical scanners that can identify waste types in seven thousandths of a second. Once an item has been identified, it can be differentiated, separated and then harvested for recycling. The waste stream to our landfill will eventually be reduced by 75%, extending its useful life for years. IREP-Montgomery was an investment we envisioned for years and will pay dividends far into our future. Communities from across the country are already sending people to Montgomery just to examine how they can incorporate IREP's technology into their waste management programs. With the world watching, we're once again making history and serving as a leader in the green energy and recycling movement. That's something of which we can all be proud. Todd Strange Mayor 4

A Tribute to My Daddy by Virginia Saunders

The first thing I want to say to my father that just passed is “Happy Father’s Day, Daddy.” Reverend Charles Gerald (Jerry) McCarty D.D. is not just a picture of a client, but was my dad until he passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 31,2014. As I sit here typing this I am trying to figure out how to sum up 77 years of such a unique gentleman. My daddy grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas and was in a quick hurry to move to New Orleans upon High School graduation! There he attended Art School and Tulane University. He went on to become an engraver and draftsman. Being the mischievous character he was, he began a career in private investigation. He had a thriving legal research business with offices in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Dublin, Ireland and London, England. Later he was ordained in the Episcopal Church. He continued his education, received a doctorate degree, and both studied and gave lectures at Oxford University in England. I believe he loved mostly being a hospice chaplain. Some of my fondest memories were going with my dad to visit loved ones in hospice. We would sit with them for hours talking, singing songs and many time me making up dances for their amusement. Those are his credentials, but who was he? The daddy I knew and loved was a man of great fun, sense of humor, faith, devotion and all about family. He was enthralled in genealogy and traced back the “McCartys” to the beginning century for our family, which was in Ireland. We even had a family reunion in Ireland when I was younger. Family was everything to him. Daddy was a very detailed and quality man. When you were with him you felt as though you were the most important person in the world to him. He would cater to your needs from cooking your favorite meal and served with your favorite drink. Daddy sent me postcards up until his death. He felt strongly about not using computers, nor did he know how, but felt the written word was lost. He would take the time to write letters, post cards and little sweet notes. As my cousin, Michael LaFrance, stated in his eulogy, “he had no need for a computer anyway because he certainly did not need Google. He was Google!!” My daddy was one of the most well versed individuals I have every known on any topic someone would bring up. I hope I can be half the person he was. Happy Father’s Day Daddy…I miss you so much and love you with all of my heart.

The fountain at Court Square is a wonderful fixture in downtown Montgomery and a delight to residents and visitors alike. However, the fountain as we know it today would probably be unrecognizable to a resident of Montgomery from the mid-19th century. Not only is today’s fountain larger than the original well, it is dug out, has a wrought-iron fence, and an incredible fountain, topped with

During the early days of Montgomery, the fountain was actually a small well, used by both whites and blacks to draw water. There were several wells located around Montgomery for those who could not afford, or did not have a private well on their property. It wasn’t until the 1850’s that the well was dug out to its present size and a fence put in place. The well became know as “big basin.” There was another well nearby know as “little basin” which was eventually closed. However, big basin would remain the same for another 30 years. By the mid-1880’s, complaints arose from the citizens of Montgomery, as well as the local newspapers, about the condition of Big Basin. W. W. Let's Hear it for the tooth fairy!

I

b y D r. Fra n k R h o

I’m about to go on a rant and I’ll tell you why. I’m sick and tired of a beloved and important children’s character getting the shaft. Enough is enough! And it’s time for a change. Christmas comes along and the television is bombarded with shows about Santa Claus. We also get Frosty the talking snowman, who is really three big snowballs sitting on top of each other and Rudolf the flying reindeer, with a spotlight for a nose. February brings Cupid the flying baby shooting arrows into hearts. Isn’t that lethal? At Easter, we get a giant rabbit laying eggs and at Thanksgiving, we end up eating the mascot. Ok, I digress. I love the holiday mascots and I absolutely enjoy the joy they bring to the children. I’m just venting because I’m feeling a little sorry for the tooth fairy. How many television shows does she get? She may get a cameo here and there, but she deserves more. Growing up can be scary sometimes for a child. At the vulnerable age of about 6 years old, they begin to go through the process of losing their baby teeth. The myth of the tooth fairy brings intrigue and comfort to their sometimes confusing coming of age. This is actually a profoundly significant reframing of a potentially scary time for them. For adults who love them, the tooth fairy brings joy as we live through the children’s wonder and limitless imagination, reminding us how colorful our imaginations were when we tucked our teeth under our pillows in anticipation of the shiny prize we’d see in the morning. Children become adults and adults always carry their inner child. The tooth fairy is the magic that bridges us together. So let’s give the tooth fairy a big standing ovation! She’ll probably just smile and blush a little, then modestly go on her way steadily tucking dollars under the pillows of our sleeping children. Dr. Frank K. Why Are The Skies Blue? And Sunsets Red?

b y D r. Fre d r i c k J a c k s o n

We all love a brilliant blue sky and a beautiful red or pink and purple sunset, but what creates this array of colors?

Blue Skies The interaction of sunlight with matter in the atmosphere results in absorption, transmission and reflection of light. The matter present in the atmosphere is mostly gaseous nitrogen and oxygen. These gas molecules absorb shorter wavelength blue light. The absorbed blue light is then radiated in different directions. The blue light scatters all around, creating the blue sky. As you look closer to the horizon, the sky appears paler in color. The reason is because the light must pass through more air and is scattered more. The result is less blue light reaching the eye. This light scattering effect explains why the appearance of the sun changes with the time of day. The yellow appearance of the noon-day sun is due to the scattering of the higher frequencies of sunlight.

This is because more of the shorter wavelength blues and greens are scattered. Only the longer wavelengths are left in the direct path that reaches our eyes. These longer wavelengths create the colors of red and orange. The effect of a red sunset becomes more pronounced if the atmosphere contains more particles of dust and water. The next time you look at the sky, remember the color is determined by the wavelength of light passing through the different amounts of particles in the atmosphere. To learn more about how to enjoy seeing these beautiful colors and enhance your vision for life, call Dr. Fredrick Jackson at Primary Eyecare Associates at 334-271-3900.

Why Are Sunsets Red? As the sun begins to set, the light must travel farther through the atmosphere before it gets to us. The sunlight encounters more and more atmospheric particles. This results in the scattering of greater amounts of yellow light. The color of the sun itself appears to change, first to orange and then to red.

The FIGHT Against Obesity by Corey & Donna Ellis

Lets keep it real, no one really wants to, or chooses to be overweight. It has to do with circumstances, obstacles, and situations that causes him or her to find comfort in overeating.

If you didn’t know, the state of Alabama is considered one of the most overweight states in the country. As professional fitness trainers, knowing this information gives us the drive to extend a helping hand. The individual, first and foremost, has to take the initiative to admit that he or she has an obesity problem. I often hear overweight people exclaim that big is beautiful, or he or she loves being big. I have also heard individuals comparing double digit pants sizes with one another, and almost seeming to be proud of the inflated number on the size pants they wore.

Even the oppressors are oppressed.

I

b y D r. Ka l a i M u g i l a n

If you think about the process that occurs when oppressors become oppressed, there is an argument to be made that even those people who are oppressing are doing the best they know how. But they lack the life skills that normal people possess and end up doing a really bad job coping. For example, a spouse-beater, engages in actions that are appallingly sad and wrong. But if he or she had the resources to deal with the struggle, the pain, the sadness and especially the aching loneliness that many experience, they may find better ways to resolve disputes and deal with their pain. They control their situations by lashing out at the people closest to them, which further isolates them.

to counsel and support the oppressed and even provide support groups for them. Maybe we could also provide resources for the oppressors as well so they too can find help. Then, just maybe, the oppressing stops. This is a tough topic and a challenging topic. At some level, we are all oppressors and oppressed at the same time, struggling to find our way in the world. And when accused as the oppressor, our mind and thinking gets pegged in a box and we are asked to resolve the confusion on our own; thus the conclusion, even the oppressors are oppressed. But there is help for those who seek it out.

Who shall counsel the oppressor? He or she needs help and an understanding heart and alternative ideas as to how to handle certain stressful situations. Finding Purpose – A Personal Wake-Up Call by Tasha Scott

Like so many, I realized that I was stuck in certain areas of my life. I was busy BEING many things and no longer BECOMING the right things! Because I didn’t know my purpose, I was simply existing. From the outside in, my life looked great. However, like most people, I glorified my weaknesses so much that I neglected my strengths! As a result, I was content to live in the land of mediocrity and disappointment.

I stopped hoping

I stopped expecting

I had no energy

I have been on a journey of discovery about who God is, who I am and what my purpose is. On this journey, I’ve made an awesome discovery. So awesome that I had to look at myself in the mirror and say “Don’t Limit Me!” Now, I am on an all out war against fear and doubt! I know the possibilities are endless on this journey! I hope you will join me to explore how we are going to push through to all that God has for us.

No more excuses.

No more holding back.

This life is ours for the taking.

I’m ready to shake some people up in a big way! The road to “Becoming” can get pretty bumpy, but if you’re like me and you’re ready to declare to yourself, “Don’t Limit Me,” then let’s get out of our own way and go for it! An Unlimited Life is ours for the taking!

JT & Leanne - "Finding the Perfect Home....." When we moved to the River Region in Summer of 2006, we rented an apartment right off Cobbs Ford Road in Prattville for 90 days while we searched for a home. It's funny, Target and all the development off the Interstate in Prattville was a flat area of red dirt at that time. Wow, it has grown as well as the rest of the area including downtown Montgomery, a new casino in Wetumpka, new residential developments in Millbrook, and Pike Road has taken the development from East Montgomery out even further. Summer is arriving and it is truly homebuying season with kids out of school, military families arriving in the area, and nicer weather becoming the norm! The best news is that the real estate market locally has been outperforming the national trends for years, even during the Recession. Now that home prices are rising along with interest rates slowly creeping up from all time lows, it's the perfect time to find a home that will continue to accrue

There are many programs that allow you to purchase a home as an investment property, and clear a positive cash flow while still servicing the loan and renting the property to someone who is not in a position to purchase at this time. Faith Dear Daddy,

You always did like letters, so I am writing you a love letter. I love you for walking us to play on the "big tree." I love you for taking me on so many trips with you....even if we did get lost in the middle of the country because you asked me for directions when I was four. I love you for not getting mad when on that same road trip, I woke up from a nap with wet pants. I love you for always taking me to the grocery store with you to spend more time together. I love you for being my best friend and not judging me especially during junior high and high school. What girl can say she could go to her father with all the awkward questions you have during those years? I can :) I loved you walking me upstairs every night, even when I was older, and saying prayers with me followed by stories of Gwendolyn the good witch so I would not have bad dreams. I loved hearing "good morning precious one" when I would come downstairs in the morning. I loved you calling me "ms. racoon" when I was little because I was always falling out of trees I climbed. I love how you made an impact on so many ways I loved going to the nursing homes with you on Sundays when I was little and you were bringing communion to "your friends " there. Daddy, this love letter could be a novel because you were such a unique person who could do anything, so brilliant and the greatest since of humor of anyone I knew.

Love, Virginia, aka Ms. Racoon and Precious One. 32

Live Pain Free! Improve Strength and Balance!

The Miracle Band has been proven to improve your strength and balance RIGHT when you put it on. The process begins with a base metal (gold, silver, brass, copper). The metal is first polarized and then electronically charged at the same frequency your body naturally has. When the processed metal comes into contact with your body, your atoms INSTANTLY mimic the atoms in the metal and all resonate in the same direction. This results in all your atoms rotating together instantly, and with your entire body working together you achieve a significant improvement in balance and increase in strength from head to toe! Daily functions such as getting up out of your chair, walking, lifting, ANYTHING requiring strength and balance becomes easier.

Jeff Nursey, Montgomery, AL On October 9, 2007 I was hit by a pickup truck while riding my bicycle. My extreme injuries included a shattered left tibia, 5 broken ribs, a broken pelvis and a punctured leg. Even after a year, the pain in my leg was so severe I was barely able to walk. In October of 2009, I even consulted a doctor about amputation. That Christmas, a friend gave me the New You Miracle Band. These Locations: After two days, the results were unbelievable! It has been almost The Herb Chateau a year since I have taken any pain medications and I highly 1043 Woodley Road Montgomery, AL 36106 recommend this product to anyone suffering from pain. Art Journaling... With A Twist! by Kasey Hope

Our art students love this project and we sure you will too! When studying Dale Chihuly we look at his cool glass sculptures and then make our own version . All you need is 1) clear shrinky dink film 2) colored sharpies and 3) a heat gun. Cut out a piece of the shrinky dink film , color with markers, and then let an adult use the heat gun on the shrinky dink. It's like magic in front of your eyes as the plastic takes on a new form! You can even punch a hole in it before adding the heat and then you can wear it as a necklace. P'zazz students think it makes quite a fashion statement! Kasey Hope is an Auburn University graduate and the owner of P'zazz Art Studio in Prattville, where she has been teaching art lessons to adults and children for 5 years.

Meow, Woof & Chirp WEIRD QUESTIONS YOU ALWAY S WANTED TO ASK YOUR VET, BUT WERE TOO EMB ARR ASSED. Why Does My Cat “Head-Butt” me? Head- Butting is actually considered “bunting” in the animal behavioral world. Cats do this to deposit facial pheromones on people or objects in their environment. Instead of territorial “marking” like their canine counterparts, cats bunt to commonly mark something as “safe” and “trusted”. Why Do Cats Knead People or Other Objects? Kneading is actually an instinctive behavior that begins shortly after a kitten’s birth. The behavior is sometimes continued into the adult cat’s life for possibly two reasons. Most behaviorists will agree, an adult cat kneads to show contentment, to calm himself/herself, or to “mark” a person or objects with his/her scent from the scent glands in the paws. Why Does My Cat Bite Me When I Pet Him? This is actually a poorly understood topic among most animal behaviorists. “Love biting” or “pet –inducedaggression” is often thought to be a cat’s way of seeking more “control” in his/her environment. It is also considered as a cat’s neurological reaction to being petted or stimulated too long. Generally, I recommend cat owners watch for other behaviors that are signs your cat has had enough. In some cases, a cat’s tail will begin to move, or he/she will meow or look up at you before the biting begins.

mount again to make his owner “happy”. The solution, if possible, is to try to ignore the dog’s humping action, remove the stimulus and do not give him any positive reinforcement for the behavior. Why Does My Dog Kick Grass After Pooping or Hike His Leg When Urinating? Both of these behaviors are normal. Many dogs will kick the ground after elimination for sanitary reasons. Like cats, they are trying to “cover up” the soiled area. But, this behavior is also used as a way for your dog to “mark” his/her territory. All dogs have glands in their feet that secrete pheromones and a couple of backward scratches into the earth release these chemicals. Leg lifting generally gives a dog the idea that his “mark” will be perceived as more “substantial” than another dog’s “mark”. He also hopes his efforts will help cover up the scent from the last dog who visited that post, bush or mailbox. Why Does My Dog Have a “Discharge” from His Private Area? This thick mucus discharge is called smegma. It is produced in your dog’s prepuce area around the outside of the penis. Smegma is actually very helpful and acts as his body’s natural defense mechanism to prevent bacteria from migrating up the urethra and causing a urinary tract infection. However, too much discharge could mean an infection in the prepuce so make sure you discuss this with your veterinarian.

Why Does My Neutered Dog Still “Hump” Things? Although neutering decreases the amount of testosterone circulating in a dog’s bloodstream, some of the sex hormone can still remain. As a result, dogs will still exhibit some mounting behavior. A more common reason a dog will mount is a basic attempt to get your attention. At some point, the dog may have noticed his mounting behavior caused “laughter” which dogs relate to their owner’s happiness. Therefore, he will

Whether it’s leg hiking, cat kneading or grass kicking, no question is too weird to ask when it comes to animal behavior. Your veterinarian may not have all the answers, but in most cases he/she will be able to denote what is considered normal from abnormal, so never be ashamed to ask.

Dr. Zeb A. King has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 20 years at Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital.

Prissy Paws is moving into Dunn Animal Clinic NEW !! ION! T A C O L

with Dr.W esley Dunn, Dr. Rusty Phillips, and Dr. Cary Phillips IZZIE/ THE SPOILED BRAT Do you see that? I’m classified as a brat! I just like to think of myself as the best, not a brat. But what do you expect when mom is always telling me I’m the prettiest girl in the world, and come on, do you see this face? It is true! You see, mom and I go way back, just 2 weeks shy of 6 years. If mom hadn’t been there that day, there’s no telling what would have happened to me. I was so sick and tiny, just 2 pounds! I am my mom’s personal bodyguard. Our life is crazy, and I live with a bunch of boneheads, but they can tell you about themselves....

ODIE/THE LOUD ONE I am not loud...okay maybe a little. When I was a puppy, I was dropped off with my brothers at mom’s work. Everyone got a home but me, I mean I talked to everyone who came in, just trying to tell them how great I am. Who knew that was not a desirable puppy trait? Mom finally decided to take me home. I still like to talk.... to the birds and the squirrels, to the people walking past the house. My favorite however is this particular tree in the yard, me and that tree; we have long meaningful conversations... what? You don’t talk to trees.... that’s a shame. TRACE/THE AIRHEADED Hi there! My name is Trace! I am not airheaded! Wait, what does that mean again? Anyway, I like to run, jump, play, do dog things. I’m pretty cool; sometimes I have no idea what’s going on, but its okay, I’m pretty!

HARMONY/ THE MASTER OF DESTRUCTION Its true...I’m bad. There is no reason to deny it. I just can’t help myself! I get bored so I eat stuff, break into the kitchen and raid the cabinets. Once, I got a peanut butter jar stuck in my mouth. I pride myself on seeing how many tricky things I can do without getting caught! I once figured out how to push through the gate in the kitchen and I had my own little party, turned the trash over, moved the furniture, but then squeezed back in the laundry room...you should have seen her face! Eventually she caught me but for the longest time she thought we might have a ghost!

ZAPPA/ THE DIVA I wouldn’t go as far as diva...I just have class and an image to uphold. So what if I don’t like getting dirty. I bet you don’t like it either! Heaven forbid, she should ever take me to that terrible place, I think they call it a beach...I can think of a better word for it, but mom says I have to watch my language. Anyway, sunscreen is icky! I was so angry, in fact, that I went down the beach and found a different family to sit with and didn’t speak to her the rest of the day. “It will keep your skin from burning” she says! You know what else would keep me from burning...not bringing me to that terrible place to begin with! BASH/ THE SLIGHTLY MANIC, CLINGY ONE Hi, I’m bash, not quite sure what manic is but if mom says I am, then I am. She is so wonderful and great; I must be with her at all times. I don’t have a problem, nope, not a problem at all. I’m a little cross-eyed but it gives me character mom says, and she knows everything so she must be right. My life is awesome now that mom got me from the shelter. I got a home and my mom it the best!

Before Launching Your Boat by Henry Hernandez, State Farm™ Insurance Agent

W

hether you’re a new boat owner or an experienced skipper heading out for the first time this season, taking the proper safety precautions is the first step in enjoying your time on the water. Here are a few prelaunch safety measures that can help make your outings as relaxing as possible.

Take A Boat Safety Course

You wouldn’t get behind the wheel of a car without a driver’s education, so why would you get behind the wheel of a boat without proper instruction? A boat safety course will teach you basic marine operation, navigation and safety, as well as federal and state boating regulations. Still need convincing? The reasons for taking a boat safety course are as simple as 1-2-3. 1. It’s the law. More than 40 states now require operators to take an approved boating safety course as part of their boat licensing or safety certification process. 2. It’s easy. Taking a boat safety course is convenient. Approved courses are offered throughout the country and many are even available online. 3. It’s effective. According to the U.S. Coast Guard, only 14 percent of accidental boating deaths in 2009 occurred on boats where the operator had received boating safety instruction. Even if your state doesn’t require boater education, the safety benefits are clear.

Get Your Vessel Checked

Once you’ve completed a boating safety course, make sure your boat is as seaworthy as you are by scheduling a U.S. Coast Guard Vessel Safety Check. This courtesy evaluation is a free, fast and convenient way to check your boat’s compliance with state and federal boating equipment regulations.

Pack The Right Gear

You can’t always prevent emergencies on the water, but you can make sure you’re equipped to deal with them effectively. The U.S. Coast Guard suggests you have the following items on your boat to help you prepare for common occurrences, such as severe weather, accidents, or mechanical breakdown: • Radio equipment • Charts of the local area and a compass • Anchor and extra line • Tool kit for repairs • Paddles • Bailer or bilge pump • First-aid kit • Food and water • Additional clothing, such as warm clothes, a hat, and foul weather gear • Personal items (sunscreen, medicines, and sunglasses)

Get Insured

Your home, your car and your boat are all investments worth protecting, and that means buying insurance. Contact an agent to discuss your boat insurance options before you get in the water.

Shopping Spree

It's All About the Men! by Geri Cronier Graduate Gemologist, Jewelry Designer, and VP Croniers Fine Jewelry

Here in the South, men do not find much for themselves in the average jewelry store. Cronier’s Jewelry is the exception. It was started in 1968 by a true Alabama native, Jerry Cronier, who grew up in Montgomery and graduated from Lanier in 1968. He has hunted, fished, raised a family, and has grown a business here. He sells what he likes to buy in his store, with the exception of firearms. Cronier’s Jewelry carries the most collectible line of men’s high-end, hand-made knives on the market. These are the heirloom for the southern man to collect and hand down to his sons. The company, William Henry, makes special knives, using blended metals, gemstones in the patented flip levers, and Alabama marble, among other rare woods and stones. They are super-cool and our customers love them! We also carry money clips, writing pens, and golf tools. Prices begin in the $250 range and go up over $2,000. Yes, the men that own these actually do carry them every day. We also carry Farber Castell writing instruments, which are made by the company that invented the modern pencil. These items range in price from $30 to $1,500. Any man who carries his own pen for work, especially an architect, an engineer, a lawyer or a businessman, would appreciate one of these great gifts! Ball Watch, a company that was able to get the trains running on time years ago by creating a precise time piece and calibrating them all together, offers cool gift options for collectors looking for something unique. The watch guy, with his love for precision, will truly appreciate what this company has to offer. We create custom wedding rings and bands for men as well. Just the other day, I made a beautiful ring with blue sapphires set flush down into the surface to compliment the bride’s vintage engagement ring. We work with different metal options to hit the right price point, using modern materials of the customer’s choosing: titanium, cobalt, tungsten, and stainless steel. Any golfer will appreciate this collection of metals from golf applications. Black diamonds look great in wedding jewelry for men, as well as sapphires and white diamonds. Wedding jewelry is no longer “all about the girl” at Cronier’s Jewelry.

Worth A Look

How to Achieve the Perfect Wedding Look!

by Rebekah Edwards LUSH Makeup Art

Summer is a popular time of year for weddings. The days are longer and sunny weather serves as the

perfect backdrop for any outdoor ceremony. But summer heat can also wreak havoc on hair and makeup, making it necessary for brides to take a few extra steps in preparing their beauty looks for the big day.

Having a beauty plan in place will ease the stress most brides feel when preparing for their weddings.

At least six months before the wedding, you need to have your hair and makeup appointments scheduled and trial runs planned. With three months to go, start your daily skin care routine, as well as receiving manicures and pedicures. Scheduling a conditioning treatment for your hair at this time is also a great idea. Monthly facials and body exfoliants will only add to your radiant beauty on the big day!

Remember all eyes will be on you! If you plan to have an artificial tan, you should begin that process

at least two months before the wedding. Be sure to do a test run to ensure that you are happy with the skin tone. Book your final tan with the same tanning specialist two days before your wedding. Don't forget to get your mani and pedi BEFORE your tan, in case they exfoliate. Then do one more hair trim or color appointment. With one month to go, enjoy yourself! Eat and drink healthy and get plenty of rest!!! And be sure to take a moment on the big day to enjoy the wonder of not just the wedding, but finally being married to the love of your life!
