Trudeau elected

The new leader of the Liberal Party of Canada

SARINE MOUMDJIAN PRODUCTION MANAGER

Justin Trudeau was elected leader of the Liberal Part of Canada on Sunday, winning 80% of the Liberal votes. The 41-year-old won with 81,389 votes more than the 100,000 votes cast last year. “Quebeckers, let’s be builders again,” he said in his nearly 30-minute-long acceptance speech. “I want to deserve your trust. You have always participated in building this country alongside other Canadians,” reported The Globe and Mail. Trudeau was elected leader 45

months after his father, Pierre Trudeau, took the same position, according to National Post. According to The Star, his rival, Vancouver’s Joyce Murray, came in second with 3,130 votes. Former MP Martha Hall got 1,760 votes, former cabinet minister Martin Cauchon won 810, and the other two candidates, Deborah Coyne and Karen McCrimmon won a little more than 200 votes each. Trudeau’s task will be a difficult one with his need to rebuild the Liberals as a powerful political force once again in Canada. Trudeau agreed that his task should not be underestimated. He said in his speech: “Let us be clear-eyed about what we have accomplished. We have worked

hard and we have had a great campaign. We are united, hopeful and resolute in our purpose,” he said. “But know this: we have won nothing more and nothing less than the opportunity to work even harder,” he said, according to The Star. Conservatives have released a video attacking Trudeau in Youtube ads, in which Trudeau takes off his shirt. The video was released shortly after he was elected leader and asks, “Can he really run Canada’s economy?” But Trudeau was already expecting the negativity that would come from the people who disagreed with his victory. “I am quite confident that what I’ve heard from Canadians across this country about people being tired of negativ-

ity, of bullying, of cynicism means that the Conservatives are going to discover that the one thing they know how to do really well is no longer working for them,” Trudeau told reporters at a massive, post-question-period scrum, according to The Star. “I look forward to having robust discussions on ideas, on values, on a vision for this country that will contrast well.” Trudeau will also begin leading in the House of Commons by focusing on the values and the high-level priorities that will embrace his position as Prime Minister. He also claims to be focusing on education, according to The Globe and Mail. His first task on Monday will be to appoint a new team in the office, create a

new shadow cabinet, and make his first appearance a memorable one in the House of Commons, according to The National Post. His next great test will be on the May 13 by-elections, where he is expected in Labrador to take back the seats that were in Conservative hands. With the next federal election scheduled for 2015, Trudeau will have two years to build and set up his party before going to the polls, reported Yahoo News. “Canadians don’t just want a different government. They want a better government,” he said at party showcase last weekend. Now, he will have the chance to prove that he is right.

Boston bombings DEVON WALCOTT INTERNATIONAL NEWS EDITOR

No arrests have yet been made in connection to the Boston Marathon bombing that killed three and injured at least 176. Two of the three suspects have been confirmed as 29-year-olf Krystle Campbell, 8year-old Martin Richard and 23–year-old Lingzu Lu, a Boston University graduate student. The American Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Justice confirm that to date, no arrest has been made in connection to the bombing. Several conflicting reports suggest that the Boston Police or possibly the FBI have made an arrest in connection with the attack; CNN has confirmed that no actual arrest had been made. The Boston Police Department’s twitter feed did say late Tuesday that no arrest was made, though major news outlets have been claiming someone was in police custody until Wednesday. No motive has yet been determined by authorities, though some are suggesting that it was an act of terror. The Pakistani Taliban had officially responded to the attack, saying that the insurgency group had no role in the fatal bombings. “Wherever we

find Americans, we will kill them, but we don't have any connection with the Boston Explosions," Ihsanullah Ihsan, spokesperson for the Taliban, said. Martin Richard, one of the two other victims, was at the race to cheer on his father who was running the marathon. Richard’s father, Bill, has released a statement to WBZ-TV, saying "My dear son Martin has died from injuries sustained in the attack on Boston. My wife and daughter are both recovering from serious injuries. We thank our family and friends, those we know and those we have never met, for their thoughts and prayers. I ask that you continue to pray for my family as we remember Martin.” When Campbell’s parents were first contacted, they were told that their daughter Krystle was still alive. There was, however, a mistake made by first responders who identified Campbell’s friend, Karen, because the young woman was holding Campbell’s bag as she was taken the from the sight of the explosion. Campbell’s parents were called to claim their ‘injured’ daughter in hospital, were shocked to discover Karen in the hospital bed. “I said, ‘That’s not my daughter, that’s Karen! Where’s my daughter?” Mrs Campbell told WCVB, a local news channel. Mr. Campbell said that the surrounding medics were just as shocked.

Security has been stepped up on much of the East Coast. The NYPD and Chicago police have both been said to have added more police to public places like Subways and other public hubs. London is scheduled to hold their own citywide marathon

This week Russian president Vladimir Putin announced 1.6 trillion rubles (USD 51.8 billion) to be invested in the country’s space program. Russia hopes the new investment will help its astronomical pursuit to boost its competitive edge against other nations within the next decade. Putin made the announcement to astronauts on the International Space Station via video-link. The interaction was on Cosmonaut’s Day: marking the 52nd anniversary of the first manned flight into space, courtesy of Russian hero Yuri Gagarin. The expenditure would help pay for manned flights and the new launch facility Vostochny, located near the Russia-China border. The country currently holds its launches in its leased Kazakh Baikonour

this upcoming Sunday. London Metropolitan police superintendent, Julia Pendry, is confident that the city can still host it’s annual event, although has said that in the wake of the recent Boston Bombing, the police would be re-

vising their security plan. "A security plan is in place for the London Marathon. We will be reviewing our security arrangements in partnership with London Marathon," said Pendry.

Space race 2013 Cosmodrome: the same site Gagarin set forth to become the first man in space. Despite disputes over the Baikonour lease since the break up of the Soviet Union in 1991, Putin has expressed his country’s intent to keep using the site until it expires in 2050. The new spaceport, located near Russia’s Pacific coast, will change its abrasive hard landing technique. Instead it will adopt the American strategy of ocean landing developed in the 60’s. The new technique calls for ocean descent," so our cosmonauts will splash down rather than touch down," Putin said. The investment will stimulate economy and cultural ties. Putin has stated there are now talks of establishing a special space travel ministry and expects the space industry to increase in value up to $1.5 trillion by 2030. Putin has also stated the US and Europe are free to launch from Vostochny. He expressed intent of uniting nations for, "Space is a sphere of activity that allows us to forget about all the difficulties of international relations".

Monday’s chaos

Russia hopes to begin launches on their own soil as early as 2015. Their manned flights, set for 2018, wish to build lunar bases and venture opposite poles of the moon for potential water sources. A later and highly anticipated exploration is the possible first manned flight to Mars. In anticipation, Russia’s Space Program has already experimented six volunteers in 500-day isolation in a mock spacecraft to simulate a Martian exploration. Russia seeks to regain its reputation as a leading force in deep-space exploration. Putin has stated, "It's clear that in the 21st century Russia must preserve its status as a leading space power," The country has been absent from interplanetary explorations for the past two decades, as the Soviet Union’s space program was dispersed to several Eastern European countries. The country aims to reacquire its former glory, especially after an embarrassing incident in 2011 of the Phobos-Grunt Mars moon probe, which crashed back into earth instead of fulfilling its desired trajectory.

MARGARITA BOZHINOVA STAFF WRITER Even deceased, Margaret Thatcher continues to inflame the United Kingdom's population, as her death sparked an outburst of festivities among her most indignant critics. In fact, on Saturday, about 3000 people assembled in Trafalgar Square, London, in an almost carnival-like gathering to celebrate her recent demise. "Some people here have a visceral hatred of Thatcher and what she did but most of us here from a younger generation are here in protest at the attempt by the establishment and parts of the media to detoxify Thatcher and her politics," explained Marcus Schneider, a 24-year-old protester. Similar events took place elsewhere, namely in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where many pubs served reduced price drinks to commemorate the event. “My only regret is that Thatcher was never brought before a war crimes tribunal,” said Jim McVeigh, former IRA member, who joined the nationalist army following the death of ten IRA hunger strikers. “Hitler has a new friend in hell, but we won’t hate her now because then we will reduce ourselves to her level,” said a 51year-old man who wished to stay anonymous to the independent news site Raw

Story. The celebration also took place online, where a group of Thatcher's opponents campaigned via a Facebook page in order to place the song Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead at the top of the British musical charts. While the campaign had started in 2007, the song, part of The Magician of Oz playlist, climbed up to the fifty-fourth place barely twelve hours after the former prime minister's death, and occupied the second position on Sunday. On Friday, BBC's Radio 1 chart show refused to play the single, deciding to include a short excerpt in a news story about how it made the week's charts instead. “The BBC finds this campaign distasteful but does not believe the record should be banned,” declared a spokesman of the broadcasting company. However, parts of song were still featured in the weekly edition of Official Chart. BBC declared that it did not wish to offend anyone, but the phenomenon could simply not be ignored. Thatcher's supporters backfired by mobilizing people to vote for the I'm in love with Margaret Thatcher, a song by punk band Notsensibles, which was originally intended to be a satirical piece. I'm in love with Margaret Thatcher was played entirely. The former prime minister's State funeral, an honour which was last granted to Winston Churchill, was held on Wednesday April 17th.

From Rags To Riches JESSE OSTROFF CONTRIBUTOR

Metaphorically speaking, local West Island rapper Yo-Yoshi went from “Rags to Riches”. There are many self-proclaimed rappers around Montreal but Yo-Yoshi is separating himself from the pack. “Everyone starts at the bottom in the field they’re entering,” Yo-Yoshi said. “My goal is to reach as many people as possible and more for the future.” At 21, Yoshi Abramovitz is following his dreams and is at his highest point of success. With over 133,000 YouTube views and the official Montreal Canadian song of Virgin Radio, it’s safe to say Yoshi’s leaving his mark. “[Radio host Freeway Frank] heard my Habs song from last year and liked it,” he said. “He even played it on his radio station. With the lockout ending, he wanted me to make them a new one. Once the song was finished, he told me it was going to be the Habs song for Virgin Radio and

asked me to come in for a radio interview.” Freeway Frank wanted a catchy song to go along with Yo-Yoshi’s lyrics, which led to multiple possibilities. “I tried different songs like ‘Locked out of Heaven’ which would have been cool because of the lockout,” the rapper said. “I’m not sure that people want to hear about that anymore though!” “It’s really cool because I love the Habs and growing up, sports has always been my main passion,” he said. “I never thought that later on in life I’d reconnect with sports through music.” After lots of experimentation, the winner was finally K’Naan’s “Hurt Me Tomorrow.” “I chose it because I thought the beat worked well and that it had a good rap rhythm,” he said. “I’ve been listening to the radio a lot because I have to at work and that song stood out as one I liked.” This song has led Yo-Yoshi to have even more fans and support. “I always have new people coming up to me and telling me they know me through my music,” he said. “There’s been lots of positive support and I appreciate all my fans.” Not everyone enjoys Yo-Yoshi’s music but he has a different way of looking at those people. “There’s always going to be

some people that don’t like it but you can always take positives out of those people,” he said. “There can be truth to what they’re saying and I don’t think it’s a good idea to shut criticism out.” There are many independent artists worldwide but Yo-Yoshi is trying to separate himself from them. “I’m trying new things to be different, original and I’m hoping that my lyrics will stand out,” the rapper said. “One of my upcoming tracks is called ‘The Alphabet Killer’ which uses every letter of the alphabet.” The rapper has many plans for the upcoming year and teases us with upcoming possibilities. “If the Habs make the playoffs this year, we might make a music video with Freeway and Natasha [Gariulo] in it,” he said. “A dream would be to have all the players in the video while I’m rapping.” He used lyrics such as “Rags to Riches” which has a different meaning than one might think. “It means starting on my own with nothing in this rap game and to hopefully build myself up where I can do this comfortably,” he explained. “I love doing this and to be happy in life you need to do something that you love. Life doesn’t have meaning besides the one you give to it.”

Tips for Group Outings maybe shouldn’t be going out with a bunch of lovey dovey couples.

MEAGHAN WESTOVER STAFF WRITER

This tip article has been one that I wanted to write for a long time. You probably figured out by now that I am kind of a control freak, so nothing bothers me more than when I go on a group outing and I find myself waiting in the freezing rain for some lost idiot or making lastminute restaurant decisions that no one agrees with because one person loves meat and the other is vegetarian. So, for all you people who have never tried to plan a group outing, or have and it turned out to be a complete fail, here are some tips for you: 1. You Are The Boss Don’t bother asking opinions. People are stupid and can’t agree with anything. This is your group outing, you wanted to organize it, and you wanted to get people together so you make the decisions on where to go and what to eat. 2. Plan it BEFORE Nothing is more annoying than when you finish with one thing and everyone is left to decide what to do after. Get rid of the confusion, the stressing and the want to strangle someone, and plan what you’re going to do BEFORE you get together. Please. 3. The People You seriously have to consider whom you’re going to invite. People don’t always get along, and sometimes people can get easily stressed out in group situations. Try to consider if someone would be comfortable with the group outing. Someone very shy wouldn’t want to go to a karaoke bar or bowling. Someone who just had a break up

4. The Places That awkward moment when you make a reservation at a restaurant smaller than your bedroom and when you get there, there’s no room for you regardless of your reservations. Yes. This has happened. If you’re on a group outing with more than six people, you seriously have to consider the places you go. Also, don’t go to Second Cup and cram a bunch of tables together. It’s a coffee place. People don’t want to hear your annoying friends talking about penis when they’re trying to study. Also, you have to consider your friend’s ages. Don’t invite your 17-year-old friends (who aren’t willing to go/don’t have a fake I.D.) to a club. You obviously ruin lives if you do that. 5. Budgets Last but not least, you have to consider a budget for the places you go. Not everyone has Michael Kors wallets and live in Westmount. If you know someone in your group struggles with money problems then don’t plan to go to a pricey restaurant unless you want to help them out with paying. Nothing is more awkward than when someone looks at a menu and declares everything is too expensive. So, considering in almost every article I mention to do a group outing for fun I thought it would be a grand idea to give you some tips on how to do it. I hope that you find these useful and now you know how to make people not so miserable in the future! Have fun, guys!

Do you have an idea for a tip article for me? I’d love to hear from you: horses_4_eva4@hotmail.com

Bleed From Within ALYSSA LAMBERTI STAFF WRITER

After a three-year hiatus from their last record, Empire, the Scottish metal heads from Bleed From Within released Uprising on April 2, with the hopes that this album would be the one to take them to the big leagues. After eight years of standing on the sidelines, Bleed From Within have been able to prove to the metal scene that they are a talented bunch. A clean-cut, straight up deathcore record is so hard to find these days, but luckily, even when surrounded by bands that have completely disregarded the traditional heaviness of such a genre, this band is able to stay true to metal. Some may call Uprising a generic deathcore album because it does strictly abide to the genre, which is very limited by means of expression. The album also does not seem to feature any outside influences, as other bands have been striving to do lately, but that is not always a bad thing. Really, it is refreshing to hear metal without the sappy lyrics, clean vocals, and outrageous attempts at incorporating electronic music. Sometimes it really is nice to just sit down and listen to

metal without any frills. One this is for sure, the boys of Bleed From Within are extremely talented musicians who sure as hell know how to play their instruments. The instrumentals are very clean throughout the album, featuring a nice balance between melodic and aggressive. The first track, entitled “III”, presents the theme of the album very nicely, opening with a very melodic riff and then becoming progressively more aggressive. The second track, entitled “Colony”, is probably the most standout song of the album because it differs from the rest. After “Colony”, there are a few more standard songs that are quite consistent and would be what you would expect from a deathcore record – breakdowns, thrashy sections and the occasional melodic interlude to cut through the constant aggression. The drumming is pretty standard, but sounds fitting in the background of every song. The guitar work is very solid throughout, shooting out crushing breakdowns, such as those in “Our Divide”, and some other more complex riffs that can be heard at the beginning of “Leech”. Songs like “Nothing”, “No One”, “Nowhere” and “Strive” showcase a more groovy side to the metal guitar, with riffs that make you want to dance almost more than head bang. The most praise can definitely be given

to Scott Kennedy, whose vocals can hit jaw-dropping highs and lows with no apparent effort whatsoever. Having dropped the squealing vocals for a fuller, richer growl, the singer has progressed and found what fits for him. The vocals are clear enough to counter the muddy breakdowns, yet rough enough to set a dense, brooding atmosphere for the harsher riffs. For those expecting a cutting-edge, innovative metal album, disappointment may be in your path. Uprising is a traditional deathcore record that will please both long time Bleed From Within fans, as well as dedicated metal heads who are tired of hearing deathcore bands that have fallen into the hell of sell-out city.

Hot’N’Cold Rhymes THOMAS AHRENS CONTRIBUTOR

The winter snows will come again, They have not finished yet. A hinder once before the rain; The days ahead are set. The night is cold, the time is soon, Nigh on the flakes shall fall, And through the snow will shine the moon, And it shall warm us all. **** The days are long, they are a song, The music is so sweet, The sounds, they gong, ahead, along, They choose to be complete. Across the lands, where lie the sands, With none of all that’s green, And no one stands, nor understands, The life as it is seen. The people there, at strangers stare;

Those that all look lost, And everywhere, in lands all bare, There’s extra clothing tossed. ***** The days, they pass, the nights don’t last, And everybody sings, And then, alas, their forced to fast, For nowhere grows a thing. Dull notes thrum in the dead air, No one hears a thing. The party lights are casting shades, And no one cares to sing. People smile without a grin, All their teeth showing, Beneath their rows of shining whites, Hate is slowly growing All together they’re alone, As they’d rather be, People talk, scarcely speaking, They rage at all they see.

Playlist of the week All I can say is ew. Rain. I hate being wet. Like, seriously, I am a cat. I hate the water. I can’t even swim! So, with all of this gloomy weather we’ve been having, the muggy-ness, the rain, and warmer temperatures all mixing together frizzing our hair and making us feel gross, let’s stay warm with a few energizing and healthy recipes to make your body smile, yeah? Zucchini bread 2 cups whole wheat flour 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp ginger ¾ cup Splenda ¼ cup Hempseed (or nuts) –optional ½ cup skim milk ½ cup egg whites ½ cup unsweetened applesauce 2 tbsp olive oil ¼ cup water ¾ cup shredded zucchini ¼ cup dried berries Preheat oven to 420 F. Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, Splenda and Hempseed together in a small bowl. In a larger bowl, mix milk, egg whites, applesauce and oil. Add zucchini and mix. Add dry ingredients, and water and mix until well combined. Fold in dried berries. Spray a baking pan of 9 x 11-ish with PAM and add mixture.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden on top and by inserting a toothpick in the middle, making sure it comes out clean. Serves 12 slices

each. Open up the sheets after 15 minutes and bake for another 5-10 minutes uncovered until brown. Serves 2

Note: It’s zucchini season, so stock up! A great veggie that can be used in sweets, as well as savory meals. This bread here is a nice addition to enjoy coffee or tea with, or as a breakfast sweet or a snack on the go.

Note: I don’t like to write about fish because it’s very difficult to please people with fish... Seafood is a particular taste that everyone has an opinion on, I find. Either way, salmon has also been well-priced lately, so go get your omega-3s and lean protein!

Tangy Salmon 2 salmon fillets 1 lemon 1 tsp garlic ½ tsp salt 1 tsp oregano ½ red pepper olive oil Aluminum foil Preheat oven at 440F. Take a baking sheet and cut two rectangular sheets of aluminum foil. Spray each with PAM, and place a fillet onto each sheet. Clean the salmon fillets by slicing off the visible fat. Make 3 incisions in each fillet. Dice the red pepper very finely and stuff the incisions made in the fillets with the red pepper. sprinkle the garlic, salt and oregano on top of the fillets. Drizzle the olive oil and lemon juice from the lemon as well. Fold the aluminum sheets over the salmon and bake the fish for 15 minutes

Oprah changed my life

Oprah was very open about touchy personal subjects as well, from the troubles behind her new TV network OWN, to her difficult youth, living in total poverty and even suffering from sexual abuse. These were amongst some of the worst moments of her life, and she shared that her faith helped her through them. From these moments of trial and tribulation, there is an opportunity to move in a new direction, which Oprah surely did. Oprah also shared how her desires have evolved over the years. She mentioned how painful it was to have certain terrible participants on her show in its early years, including members of the Ku-Klux-Klan and adulterous couples. Such participants would make her feel awful about the work she was doing: from there on she strived not only to be a

successful TV show host, but to be one that serves to help people in need, and share her knowledge with others. One thing that I learned while hearing Oprah speak is that we both have a weakness for rejection. It amazes me to think that we can relate in any sort of way. Oprah taught us about a term she uses called a “thorn”, a negative part of us that occasionally appears and brings us down. The “thorn” we share is that of rejection, meaning that whenever something or someone rejects us, we take it extremely personally and harshly. Oprah referred to the tough feedback she received about the establishment of her OWN network last year, and its difficulty to gain viewers. She confessed to us all how upset the reports made her feel, and that the publicity of her

failings in Hollywood tabloids only added to the disappointment. Nevertheless, she found her way out of the rut, and revamped her network. The OWN network actually gained some big ratings earlier this year when she recently interviewed Lance Armstrong and got him to confess to his use of performance-enhancing drugs. After her lecture, Canadian TV personality George Stroumboulopoulos interviewed Oprah on stage, recapping some of the main themes of the night in a very loose and casual discussion. The evening ended at 10 p.m., which seems quite early for a Bell Centre event. Honestly, I did not care that I may have been one of the youngest people at the Bell Centre last Thursday night. I feel great knowing that even someone amongst the most rich and famous in the world still feels extremely awful about themselves some days. I feel great knowing that even Oprah suffers from insecurity and rejection like many others and me. I feel even better knowing that whatever madness may come my way I can rise above it. For me, the experience of going to An Evening With Oprah was not only one that I enjoyed because it presented an excellent mother-daughter night out, but because it was one where some of the life lessons my mother and I once learned reappeared at the moment we needed them to. In the midst of intense school stress, sometimes I forget how blessed I am to even be alive. Hearing Oprah Winfrey speak about the valuable lessons she learned through her own struggles and her own climb to success proved to me that no matter how messy my life is about to get from school, there is always a silver lining. It’s all about knowing your calling in life, and knowing that when you’ve figuratively hit a wall, it’s a sign to go in a new and better direction. I am proud to say that I have been in the same gigantic room as Oprah Winfrey, television personality extraordinaire and role model for all women today.

didn’t experience much religious activity while they were young, leading to a closed off perspective of the world. Sometimes ignorance isn’t always bliss. Many people feel their lives are grand, and they should not have the need to learn about different ways of life. The way I see it, when opening your eyes to different types of religion you are preventing embarrassment and instilling protection in the core of your mind. What’s the harm in entering a conversation because you have acquired the appropriate knowledge to speak your mind? It is definitely better than being approached for your opinion and not being able to answer because you don’t have one, or respond with an “I don’t believe in that sort of thing”. Then what do you believe in? I feel like I’m speaking to a robot with a hollow brain. Even if you believe in the big bang and have faith in no higher power, educate yourself on the opinions of others because your perspective may change. The problem here is following the crowd; playing it safe. The one person who changed the world’s percep-

tion of reality, based on his theories was Socrates. He deemed it essential to fight for the truth and spread his knowledge to everyone until he was accused of corrupting youth. Simply knowing about the various philosophies present in today’s society can enable you to spread your voice and most importantly make it powerful. Remember, Socrates didn’t need to follow the crowd to be heard. Furthermore, have you ever wondered why religion is present in the first place? There are many reasons behind putting faith into a worthy belief. Hope is what ensures your dreams become realities. Working hard your entire life to find out that nothing is gained from your labour, results in discouragement and halted progress; life is similar when there is no meaning behind it. The minute I realize I’m putting my efforts into a lost cause, I stop what I am doing altogether; imagine the acts of someone who has no end goal to their journey? This is why giving life to death is the key to obtaining a fulfilled life. I become so deeply frustrated when realizing

that I am one among few others who have been freed from this closed off cave of reality. In Plato’s allegory of the cave, the prisoners are chained up to face a wall, watching shadows move across it; shadows which they believe are real. Oblivious, they do not witness people walking along a path behind them causing these shadows. They are closed off from reality because they haven’t been set free. Finally, my Protestant religion shows that being set free is being aware of your choices and knowing that there is no demand asked upon this religion. We do not offer a limitless amount of virgins if you complete a list of evil tasks. Today, our list of Ten Commandments holds moral rules which people follows instinctively, without even realizing they are real written rules from the Bible. Protestantism only requires your belief it only requires finding that tiny little spark in your heart, telling you that you’re not alone in the world, that somebody is looking out for you, that everyone you have lost is waiting just a lifetime away for you. What will you do about it?

When I told my friends that I was going to see Oprah Winfrey speak at the Bell Centre on Thursday April 11, they only asked me one question: what if you win a car? Yet I had no doubt in my mind that I would be walking away without a car. The event was nearly sold out: that’s 15 000 seats or more occupied in the Bell Centre. No one would be getting a car. Oprah wants the audience to walk away with something more valuable than any kind of car. Or at least I felt that I walked away with something more rewarding than any kind of Pontiac. I am someone who has never watched Oprah’s show on a regular basis, for I was always in school. I’ve read her biography for a project before. I read her magazine every once in a while, and it’s wonderful. Sometimes, I watch Oprah’s Next Chapter, if I ever have the time. Overall, I know of her as an ever-present public figure with powerful connections (she did, after all, refer to Maya Angelou as a mother figure of hers). Although my friends may argue in disagreement, I do not see her as an almighty superhuman being. Hearing her speak last Thursday proved to me that besides the infinite amounts of money and power she has, she is human, and like all of us, she has her struggles. Just knowing that comforts me a whole lot. So what did Oprah spend two hours talking about? Let’s run down some highlights. I shook with excitement as Lady O made her first appearance on the Bell Centre stage, yelling “Bonjour Montreaaaaaaaaaal” in her signature Oprah voice over a loud, never-ending round of applause and cheers. As I could examine by the large screens depicting the scene on the stage close-up, Oprah seemed truly humbled by her popularity in Montreal, a city she’d never been to before. In fact she

All hail Lady O!

was so humbled, she even got emotional and cried. She began her talk with the subject of finding your true calling, what you are passionate about and making a career out of it. She admitted that has had a passion for public speaking and TV reporting from a very young age. When discussing the pursuit of one’s calling, Oprah brought up what would become a popular theme of the night: her new love for David’s Tea. In addition to raving about the beautiful gift basket made for her and the wonderful teas inside it, she commended the people behind the organization for pursuing their passion for tea! The passionate people of David’s Tea were given the ultimate reward that evening when Oprah promised to feature them in her magazine.

It’s funny how a simple question can alter your entire perception of reality. It makes one realize that their truth matters to no one but themselves. Believing in God is a very touchy topic that I embrace with pride. Simply having the will to believe in something larger than mankind or invisible to the eye, shows qualities that are desperately needed in today’s society. An informed and well thought out opinion is the strongest form of character one can possess and being unexposed to learning different views of life leads to ignorance. It is important to acknowledge a greater significance in life in order to invoke meaning throughout our fluctuating journeys. If the last few believers of our generation don’t speak up for what they believe in, the human race is at risk of becoming egocentric people who have no

time for anything other than superficial lives. To know that a necklace caused my revelation is absurd. I have worn a cross necklace for longer than I can remember and had never spoken about religion (until now) to the point where I could abstractly picture a broken future. A male student in one of my courses asked me whether or not I believed in God. It was the way in which he presented his question which caught me off guard and on the edge of my seat with my claws out. He asked “You don’t believe in God do you?” and this formed such a pulsing anger under my skin that I wasn’t sure I was capable of responding civilly. I deflected the question by asking “What, you’re one of those people who need to see it to believe it?”. Seriously, a girl wearing a cross on a necklace signifies something other than her belief in God? What is our generation leading to? The respect for each other’s opinions is being flushed down the drain and it is due to this unimaginative generation. Today those who don’t believe in God probably

Cosmetic chaos MINA MAZUMDER STAFF WRITER

Have you ever wondered what dangerous chemicals are found in your cosmetics? Many cosmetics we use on a daily basis are known to have serious risks to our health. According to the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (CSC), common cosmetics have been proven to contain dangerous chemicals that are linked to cancer, asthma and reproductive harm. Nowadays, the cosmetic industry markets their cosmetics without informing their buyers about the harmful chemicals in their products. Furthermore, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are known for their bad reputation towards the lack of concern on the regulation of carcinogens in cosmetics and personal care products. Researchers report that the ingredients used in personal care products contain carcinogens, pesticides, reproductive toxins and hormone disruptors. Parabens are commonly used as preservatives in a variety of cosmetics such as lotions and creams. As carcinogens, they have been found in breast tumor biopsy results as well as in many urine samples. Pregnant women should avoid parabens since it can lead to birth defects in babies. Scientists have found a potential link between parabens and cancers. Some types of parabens to avoid in your cosmetics’ ingredients are ethylparaben, butylparaben, methylparaben and propylparaben. Synthetic fragrances can contain about 200 unknown chemicals. However, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (CSC) has identified some chemicals from allergens

Nail polish

to neurotoxins. Fragrance is one of the most common chemicals found in most cosmetics used by men and women. Some products market as “unscented” might actually contain fragrance along with a masking agent that prevents the brain from identifying the scent. Many fragrances in products like perfumes, colognes and deodorants can cause allergic reactions, migraines, skin irritations and asthma symptoms. It is best to use essential oils or natural fragrances as an alternative. Formaldehyde is a form of preservative that is used in a wide range of cosmetics and it is the same chemical used to preserve corpses. According to the U.S National Toxicology Program, it is considered as “reasonable anticipated to cause cancer.” It can lead to allergic reactions, contact dermatitis and headaches. The

European Union lists it as carcinogenic and toxic. It is most commonly contained in nail polishes and bath products. It is great to ask a professional about the content of this chemical in the product before purchasing it. Phthalates are hormone-disrupting chemicals that are widely used in personal care products and cosmetics; however, they are rarely listed in the labels and ingredients. They are considered plasticizers that help to preserve colour and scent in products. The Environmental Protection Agency has labeled phthalates as a carcinogenic chemical for humans. Scientific studies have discovered developmental abnormalities in male children due to high levels of phthalates in the bodies of their mothers. Also, Health Canada found evidence that the exposure to this chemical may cause negative health effects to vital

organs in infants. Look for abbreviated terms like ‘’DBP’’, ‘’DEP’’, ‘’DEHP’’ and ‘’DMP’’ in the list of ingredients. Heavy metals such as lead and mercury are used in various makeup and cosmetics. Many lipsticks that are sold in the market contain lead. The FDA has found high levels of lead in popular brands of lipstick in 2009, and according to the EPA, the longterm exposure to lead is toxic and causes brain and kidney damage as well as harm in the central nervous system. It is especially harmful to children since it can cause neurodevelopment issues and as wekk as miscarriages and infertility. It is a good solution to not support unsafe manufacturers that allow lead and look for cosmetic products that do not contain lead. Other metals such as mercury and aluminium can also have negative effects on the body. According to the EWG, mercury

can cause nervous system toxicity and respiratory system toxicity, and aluminum compounds are linked to developmental reproductive toxicity and cancer. It is best to avoid heavy metals in any sort of products. Petrolatum is a mineral oil jelly that is commonly listed as mineral oil, liquid paraffin or toluene and it has been restricted for use in cosmetics in some countries around the world. This chemical is used as a skin moisture barrier in moisturizers but also in hair care products. It is also found in cosmetic treatments and baby creams. Like aluminum in some antiperspirants, it can also promote some types of cancer. Scientific researchers have found that petroleum-derived ingredients in moisturizing products are linked to skin cancer tumour growth. It is also known to cause skin irritations and allergies. It is best to choose natural alternatives such as jojoba oils and shea butter. Many experts warn consumers to avoid products that contain parabens, synthetic ingredients, petroleum, phthalates, formaldehyde, preservatives and heavy metals such as lead and mercury. Several products that contain harmful chemicals can easily be absorbed through the skin, enter the bloodstream and create longterm consequences to healthy cells in the body. These tips to avoid carcinogenic chemicals in cosmetic products can be applied to both women and men. According to CSC, the average male uses about six personal care products daily that contain 80 chemicals, such as shaving creams, deodorants, aftershaves and colognes. Using more natural and carcinogen-free products can help to avoid health problems in the long run.

While I was walking around the city, a Caucasian man stopped me and started speaking in what I can only assume was Mandarin. I let him finish, smiled politely, and replied, “I’m not Chinese.” Sadly— and I say sadly because I will explain what these assumptions mean—this is not the first time that this kind of situation has happened. Throughout my whole life as a Canadian, people believe that I am Chinese. From there, they put together a whole stereotypic picture of my life simply because of my appearance. People not only assume that I speak the language but also deduce my identity such as my hobbies, studies, and all the stereotypes associated with Chinese culture. It’s as though my whole life is predetermined by strangers who don’t know the first thing about me. A Canadian family adopted me from China at the age of ten months. I have been raised as a Canadian and have had little exposure to Chinese culture. Sometimes, I forget that I have Chinese origins

because I’ve had so little contact with my native roots. My parents did try to preserve some Asian ancestry. From ages three to five, I attended Chinese school, and went every Saturday morning. According to my report card, when the class sang the itsybitsy spider and other songs in Mandarin, I would sing in English. I disliked it so much that my parents finally gave up and stopped dragging me there. It was also futile that I go because, unlike the other students, I had no one to practice with. That was my family’s last attempt at maintaining my Chinese heritage. Additionally, people also encourage me to join clubs or hobbies just because of their association with my image and common stereotypes. Not too long ago, I was at the Atwater Club when a nice old lady approached me. She suggested that I join the Badminton Team. She harmlessly said, “There are a lot of ‘asiatiques’ who play awfully well! You should join.” She was too innocent for me to correct her words or even react. There are so many times when people build an image of who they think I must be, and go as far as assuming my abilities and talents. I’ve also had people tell me that I must be good in ping-pong because it’s “my” sport. My

sport is horseback riding. This being said, nothing annoys me more than when people attempt to summarize me, don’t give me a chance to introduce myself, and jump to immediate conclusions. People don’t even ask me what I am studying; they always guess that I am at Marianopolis and studying sciences. There is nothing more irritating than people who jump to these conclusions just because of the shape of my eyes. Other than that feature, I would say that there is nothing Chinese about me. How am I supposed to respond to these situations? However, my friends insist that I have some stereotypical Asian characteristics such as my capacity to work for long hours, being studious, being an overachiever… But I claim that these values come from the Jew in me—my father being Jewish. The irony is that I hate Chinese food, and I can’t use chopsticks. I would much rather have a hamburger, bacon and fries than fried dumplings and bok choy that jiggle on my plate. I see myself as a banana—white on the inside, and yellow on the outside. When people come up to me and start speaking Mandarin, I bite my tongue.

I’m a virgin but I’m having these…urges. I’m super jealous of all my other non-virgin friends. I just want someone to fill me up but I’ve made a vow to save myself for marriage. I’m thinking of resorting to butt play… does that count?

Ever since I’ve stopped shaving guys I’m about to get down and dirty with always back the fuck up once they see my vagina because it’s hairy. Should I start shaving again and give in to nasty capitalistic societal pressures or should I fight the system and let it be?

If you did everything except letting the boy put his Linus in your Snoopy, should you really consider yourself a virgin? Like, what really is sex? 'Cause the whole "penis in the vagina" thing seems…I don't know, too biblical? Besides, if that's the real definition, thenthat means that pretty much every gay person is still a virgin and that’s impossible because gays are sluts and have the most sex out of everyone.

Well, that depends entirely on how much you want to bang and who you want to bang. Not many are for stray pubes getting all up in their teeth when trying to get their cunnilingus on. You can always go on Craiglist to find your nether lips a bearded clam enthusiast but other than that, I would say, shave to get your pink taco back to its former glory as prolific dick rider. I know it’s disappointing to give in to the man and abandon your hairy revolution but look at the bright side, there is nothing (NOTHING) in this world that feels lovelier than a freshly waxed muff. It is like a litter of puppies are squirming all silky soft in your lap and you just want to stroke them forever. You’ll barely be able to get anything done because of how much you want to touch yourself.

If you’re handling cock, you’re handling cock. Whether you’re shoving it up your snatch or your Hershey highway, point is, you’re touching some D, which you have so solemnly sworn off (poor choice. You’re missing fun). Either break the vow or content yourself with flicking the bean until someone puts a ring on it.

Who is your team drafting this year? ADRIANO VALENTE CONTRIBUTOR

In this week’s NFL Mock Draft, we break down the NFL’s first 16 picks in the upcoming draft. 1. Kansas City Chiefs: Luke Joeckel, OT , Texas A&M The Chiefs gave up a lot when they traded for former San Francisco 49ers QB Alex Smith and they need to keep their investment protected. Disgruntled OT Brandon Albert is on the trading block so Joeckel, the highest-rated lineman in the draft, would make sense at No.1. 2. Jacksonville Jaguars: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama Even though Jacksonville had the worst pass rush in the league last year, this draft is full of depth on the defensive line, so the DE position can be addressed in the second round. Milliner adds immediate impact to an aging, depleted secondary that’s in need of a young playmaker. 3. Oakland Raiders: Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida The Raiders lost both Richard Seymour and Tommy Kelly so it wouldn’t be surprising to see them try to replace him with Floyd, the draft’s top interior lineman.

4. Philadelphia Eagles: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon Jordan played in new Eagles head coach Chip Kelly’s defensive scheme throughout his career at Oregon. Kelly is familiar with Jordan’s personality and work ethic that, along with his ability to play as both a 4-3 and 3-4 pass rusher, make him an ideal pick for an Eagles dline that needs some remodeling. 5. Detroit Lions: Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU Detroit could use a lot of help on defense, starting with defensive line. At the Senior Bowl, Detroit’s coaching staff was apparently impressed by Ansah’s size and potential, which gives us a pretty strong hint that they’d consider taking him at No.5, if he’s still available. 6. Cleveland Browns: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah Cleveland would probably rather have a CB at this spot but Milliner was the only defensive back worth a top ten pick. That being said, Lotulelei is a solid fit for the Browns 3-4 defense and can make an immediate impact by both stopping the run and rushing the passer. 7. Arizona Cardinals: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan The Cardinals filled the gap at QB by trading for Raiders QB Carson Palmer. The next big issue for the Cardinals is fixing the offensive line. Fisher is considered

by some as the best offensive lineman in the draft, so plugging him into the blind spot gives the Cards some assurance that they can keep Palmer safe and maybe get something going on offense. 8. Buffalo Bills: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia This year’s quarterback class is weak. Although he’s got some question marks surrounding him, Smith is one of the few bright spots in a mediocre crop. That being said, the Bills’ need for a QB in the future is great and Smith’s mobility and accuracy might be just enough to convince Buffalo to take him here at No. 8. 9. New York Jets: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State Head coach Rex Ryan is on the hot seat in New York. Despite the team’s struggles on offense, Ryan has always relied on a solid defense to control the pace of the game. Adding a pass rusher like Werner would make it a whole lot easier for them to do that. The Jets need to make it easier on whoever’s going to be under centre next year, whether it’s Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, or whoever the hell else is fighting for that job, and a better defense would help 10. Tennessee Titans: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama RB Chris Johnson has been having a hard time finding gaps to run through the last couple of seasons. Warmack, who is thought to be the best guard in

the draft, gives them an instant upgrade and gives CJ2K an opportunity to return to his original form. 11. San Diego Chargers: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma The Chargers need to find a way to keep QB Philip Rivers from creating so many turnovers. The solution (maybe)? Give him some time to throw the ball. By adding Johnson, Rivers gets some help in the pocket, which should allow him to make smarter, more thought-out throws. 12. Miami Dolphins: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State The Dolphins went crazy in Free Agency and signed a ton of players. Among the horde of free agents, the Dolphins brought in was former Atlanta Falcons corner Brent Grimes. Drafting Rhodes here would both solidify their secondary and serve as insurance in case Grimes, who has some bad injury history, doesn’t pan out. 13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri There is some speculation that the Buccaneers will go with TE Tyler Eifert with this pick but sources out of Tampa Bay say that head coach Greg Schiano isn’t satisfied with the play of quarterback Josh Freeman. So why would he build around a player he doesn’t believe in? Schiano is a defensive-minded coach so expect him to build around his defensive line, especially after they lost DT Roy Miller in free Agency.

14. Carolina Panthers: D.J. Fluker, OT Alabama Now that the Panthers have a quarterback they need to keep him protected. Fluker’s 6’6” and weighs around 335 pounds; the guy’s huge. With him on the offensive line the Panthers management won’t have to worry about keeping Cam Newton safe, at least not while he’s in the pocket. 15. New Orleans Saints: Kenny Vaccaro, S, Texas The Saints’ defense played a big part in their failure to make the postseason last year. The secondary was a mess, and you know it’s bad when even Drew Brees can’t score enough points to keep you in the game. What Vaccaro adds is some fresh young talent to a secondary that needs a lot of work, especially when you consider that they have to go against Vincent Jackson, Roddy White, Steve Smith and Julio Jones twice a year. 16. St. Louis Rams: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee The Rams need a dynamic playmaker to help out former No.1 overall pick Sam Bradford. Patterson is a rare combination of speed and strength at WR. He’s 6’3” and 205 pounds, and runs a 4.42 40 yard dash. Patterson would give the Rams the true No.1 wide receiver and the dynamic playmaker they’ve been trying to find for years.

in Quebec, hosted by the Montreal Development Cricket Association at Dawson’s gym facility. Within seconds at the start of the first game, Sajib Paul scored the Blues’ first run. The Cavaliers’ bowling was too wide as the Blues continued gaining runs throughout the first inning. The Blues’ Dhandev Patel then scored a sixer for the team, netting an additional

six runs for the home team. After 15 minutes, Champlain started to pick up their game and the first half ended with Dawson finishing with 36 runs. The Cavaliers responded well in the second inning. Champlain’s Arman Usaman attempted to bowl but was impressively blocked by Blues player Mahad Ali. Minutes later though, Usaman hit the wall, landing six runs for the Cavaliers. Failing to catch the last run, the Blues lost to the Cavaliers, who scored 37 runs (and four out) in their half. The first game thus ended 1-0 in favor of the Cavaliers. “For the first game, it was epic because of how close the results were and how competitive we all played,” Blues captain Raza Awan said. The second match started shortly after as the Cavaliers continued dominating the game. With strong force, Blues’ Farhan Sheikh bowled (hitting the wicket). The Cavaliers ended the first inning of the second match scrapping 47 runs. “I just discovered a new sport. It’s only a week that I’ve been playing,” Cavaliers’ Rami Guevara said. The second inning of the second game was a critical period for the Blues as Dawson mounted a comeback. Despite Robert Kerr of the Cavaliers blocking of several Blues’ runs, the last few minutes of the game showed Dawson’s strength. After Blues’ Captain Raza

Awan hit a single run, Blues’ player Claus Faisal won the game for the Blues with four runs of his own. “It was an amazing experience and a tough match,” Champlain’s Kiram Khushal, who won the award Man of the Match, said. In the end, both teams tied 1-1. The

Blues and Cavaliers decided to share the Titanic Cup. With the success and crowd turnout of the cricket game, the Blues are looking into possible having a four-way tournament next semester with John Abbott, Vanier College, and Champlain St-Lambert.

Habs 7-3 Flyers JACOB COHEN SPORTS EDITOR

This is a family newspaper, so I cannot accurately describe how the Canadiens played Monday night against the Flyers. Oh wait, this isn’t a family newspaper; the Canadiens sucked fat Philly-cheese dick. A seven-three loss, in the Bell Centre, at the hands of the Broad Street Bullies is a nightmare. The loss followed a five-one routing at the ACC to our buds the Buds – this is no nightmare. This is a night terror. Carey Price started the game off terribly, and the rest of the team followed suit. The Flyers opened the scoring 2:45 into the contest. Wayne Simmonds took a slap shot from the right circle, which Carey Price kicked right back to Simmonds. Simmonds’s second shot chipped Price, bounced off Couturier and went in. Price finished with 23 saves on 29 shots, and was riding the pine to start the third period. Three minutes later, Erik Gustafsson took a shot from the point that trickled through Price’s fivehole. After surrendering three goals on four shots in Toronto, Price’s start could not have been any worse for a team that desperately needed to

MONIKA CEFIS SHFC EDITOR

After having witnessed Monday evening’s hockey game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Philadelphia Flyers, I was extremely discouraged and outraged. Why, you may ask? How the hell is one supposed to keep their eyes focused on such a repugnant abomination that is the nauseous orange on the Flyers’ jerseys? This team should be shunned for their sartorial strategy. It is obviously the only reason why they won. I think if I had to be as close to them as the Habs so courageously were, I would most probably whack them with a hockey stick for their poor taste before passing out from a neon-orange overdose. Now for the match. To be honest, I cannot recall the first five minutes of it because I was captivated by the Apollolike figure sitting three rows down from me, 5 seats to the right. Yes, I counted just in case the divine Mr. Section-101row-seat-5 just happened to read this article. However, if you must know, the Flyers scored two goals. Then, I just really needed to pee. I could not hold it in anymore. I’m lying, that’s what I told Jacob so that I could follow the mysterious hot stranger who had just exited the arena, but I actually

bounce back and get on a roll heading into the playoffs. I was inside the Bell Centre to watch what actually looked like the Globetrotters wiping the floor with the Generals. The Canadiens may have scored three goals, but they never really looked like turning the game around. The Flyers quickly answered any Habs goals. Gallagher’s goal 38 seconds into the second period equalised the score, but Philly answered 24 seconds later. You could tell from that point on that there would be no Habs comeback. The lone bright spots on the ice were P.K. Subban and Brendan Gallagher. Subban had two assists and had a few flashes of brilliance, reminding everyone of the raw skill he possesses. Gallagher scored a goal, but was buzzing all game and created chances almost every time he was on the ice. The rookie is putting in a serious bid for the Calder; Gallagher has had a huge impact on the team, and has really been carrying his line mantes Pacioretty and Desharnais over the past few weeks. I don’t know where the Habs’ heads were Monday night, but they sure weren’t in the Bell Centre. Our veteran players plainly did not show up. Josh Gorges, who rarely commits errors, gave the puck up three or four times, most notably on the third goal where his giveaway behind the net immediately led to a goal. Markov could do no right, giving the puck away, making bad decisions, and putting his passes behind

went to pee, so I guess it was not much of a lie. The never-ending line to the women’s washroom took me to the end of the first period of the game. Here is a basic recap of what happened when I returned. One of the Canadiens had the puck. Then, said player passed the puck to another, who passed it to another, then back to him. Development. Then, he passed it to another player who, in fact, passed the puck. I think it was deflected, I am not sure, the neon jerseys only allow me to focus on the rink for so long. Somehow it got into the net, so the score at this point is 2-1. Basically, the same thing happened in the second period. There was a lot of passing of the puck, the Canadiens scored two more goals and the loathsome Flyers scored 4. The Flyers are just extremely unnecessary. They have no purpose apart from being heavily disliked. The period was somewhat depressing, so I’ll talk about how this one guy on fell on the ice. Our player with luscious strands of golden hair body checked one of the brutes, but hit his face instead. Entertainment. Another player then tried to tackle our player to the ground, and a wrestling match ensued. My thoughts go to his pretty face and his hopefully inexistent girlfriend. As for the last period, the Flyers scored another goal, wooptidoo! 7-3, what a great game to go see. On the bright side, a fat kid danced on camera and I think

players. Ryder and Bourque were quiet and Drewiskie looked like a pylon on several plays. The Flyers were deadly on the power play, even though they hadn’t scored with the man advantage in ten games. The Giroux-Voracek-Gagne line combined for seven points, and Hartnell “the bearded lady” scored a hat trick. Even Bryzgalov, who normally couldn’t stop a puck to save his life, kept his team in the game and only allowed three goals. The best part of the night was the kiss-

cam in the second period, where a couple of spirited older couples were really going at it. That and the third period dance contest provided more entertainment than sixty minutes of hockey did. The Habs will need to remove their heads from the land where the sun don’t shine really quickly. The Canadiens visit Pittsburgh Wednesday, which will be even uglier than Monday night if their play doesn’t drastically improve. Budaj has already been named the starter for that game, and Price’s confidence may be

in jeopardy. This could not have come at a worse time – the playoffs start in six days, and with tough opponents approaching (Penguins, Capitals, Devils, Jets, Leafs) the performance against Philly needs to be an anomaly. Too often teams that had a great season enter the playoffs cold and have an early exit (yes, you, Vancouver and Washington). If the Canadiens want to be rewarded for their great season, the Habbies need to get back on a roll.

he won a yearly supply of Pom bread for it. Oh, the irony. Now for the post-match recap. I unfotunately did not witness any man-tears; although, Jacob did try to punch something out of spite and managed to make himself look like a complete idiot in the

process (#winning). Then he started talking about technicalities and drafts and lost me amidst the rant. If you must know, here is what I have concluded from all of this madness. First off, the Canadiens should win an award for their tasteful nuances of team

colours. Also, there is no place in my heart for the Flyers. Furthermore, I would not mind nursing our player with the Herbal-Essences-worthy locks, who suffered of an incredibly attractive and manly injury. Finally, the NHL should highly consider drafting llamas.

January 20 to February 19 Dinosaurs are still alive, but they are in hiding. Look under rocks and ferns. Sometimes you can see eight-legged dinosaurs scurry into cracks in the wall and spin their dinosaur-webs. Flying dinosaurs can be seen flying south in V formations as the weather changes. Dinosaurs wearing clothes often teach physical education in American high schools. But do not tell anyone. You cannot expose their secrets. The world is not ready.

May 21 to June 20 Try dressing up in a nice suit and evicting people from their homes. September 23 to October 23 There's not much that can't be accomplished by a little arson, and burning other people's stuff is a sure-fire way to get their attention. Pisces February 20 to March 20 Three physicians were fired from St. Prostata’s Hospital this afternoon in the aftermath of what they referred to as a “baby fight”. The escapade involved the medical workers aggressively throwing newborns at one another in a competitive attempt to offset their opponent’s balance. This was reportedly not the first time such an event has taken place on hospital property, with some hospital workers having openly admitting to playing a few rounds during their hours off. The final straw came when a stray toddler blindsided the hospital’s director, causing him to spill his morning coffee and altogether putting a damper on his day. The physicians have stated that their termination from the hospital has done little to discourage them from their love of the sport. They plan to start a league, having coined the slogan: “Once the baby powder clears, there can only be one victor.”
