As we reflect on this last term it is only understandable that our thoughts take us to our foundations wherein lie our teachers' commitment, dedication and passion for education.

Key Stage 3 (Year 7 and 8) As we approach the end of another incredible year of learning and growth, we wanted to take a moment to extend our warmest wishes to each and every one of you! Your curiosity and enthusiasm brighten our classrooms every day, and we feel privileged to be part of your educational journey.

Take this time to relax, recharge, and cherish the special moments with family and friends. Remember to appreciate the small wonders and the spirit of giving that makes this season so magical.

Merry Christmas from the non academic team

Merry Christmas from us all, and we cannot wait to see you and your families and welcome you to Invictus Bukit Timah in 2024! As you know we are always busy rushing around, but love taking time to smile and chat to your children when they come into school in the morning and during break and lunchtimes. Seeing all your children's smiling faces gives us great pleasure working in such a wonderful and happy school!

Christmas Showcase 2023 This year the Year 1-3 pupils worked hard in putting together our first live Christmas play 'Santa and the Reindeer'. Through acting, singing ensemble, and even rap talents, the pupils really enhanced their showmanship. Students in Years 4-8 showcased a range of ensembles ranging from Angklungs and choir ensembles to rock band. We were also treated to wonderful performances by our Motown junior ECA students, as well as Trinity Drama Solo and ECA students. Congratulations to all the pupils who took part! Merry Christmas from The Perse Parent's Association

Wishing all our families a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year! We have had a very busy term and finished with a WONDERFUL Christmas Fair. The children had a wonderful time, and it gives us great pleasure putting on events such as this. We have lots of exciting plans for 2024 including Movie afternoons, a Bingo night and an International Day. Please stay tuned! The Other Clinic service opportunity at The Perse School, Singapore The Perse School, Singapore is pleased to announce a collaboration with The Other Clinic (TOC) to provide counselling and psychological services to students on the school premises.

Dr Ronina Stevens, Director and Clinical Psychologist, and Lynne Atherton, Counsellor, will be holding an informal, introductory session for parents at 8.30am on Wednesday 8 November 2023 to explain the support TOC can offer to our students and to provide further information about their clinic. Please see the next page for Lynee Atherton's biography.

TOC offers high quality psychological services in Singapore and internationally. They are an open and friendly team of counsellors and psychologists, experienced in supporting mental wellness across the age span (children, adolescents and adults), and catering to a broad range of mental health and de velopmental issues. They have long-established partnerships with various international schools in Singapore and across Southeast Asia and work closely with teachers and hea lth professionals to promote the well-being of their clients.

Please note that whilst this is a collaboration for premises; the service, guidance and advice given to families is through T he Other Clinic and has no affiliation to The Perse School, Singapore. It has been agreed that concurrent appointments will be arranged where possible on a rotational basis to e nable long term academic studies to be uninterrupted.

Lynne works with children, adolescents and adults to empower them to make meaningful changes to their lives and to help them to develop life skills to manage future challenges. She works collaboratively with her clients to develop a strong, trusting relationship from which to explore their issues. She is naturally warm and calm and her counselling approach is non-judgmental, empathetic and transparent.

Lynne supports clients with a range of mental health issues, including anxiety (social anxiety and OCD), depression, self-esteem, emotional regulation, behavioural issues, anger management, traumatic experiences, transitional difficulties, relationship issues, grief/ loss and school refusal. She works with neurodiverse individuals and supports them and their families. She also runs group and individual therapy for children and young adolescents to develop emotional literacy and social thinking skills.

Lynne’s therapeutic approach draws on evidence-based interventions, including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and is tailored to meet her client’s needs. She collaborates with other health professionals and school counsellors/teachers, where necessary, to help her clients achieve their goals.

Lynne previously practised as a lawyer, helping clients to successfully resolve their legal issues through litigation, arbitration and mediation. As a result, she understands the demands and stresses of corporate life, career transition and burnout and has worked in diverse environments with people from a wide range of cultural and religious backgrounds.

Originally from the UK, Lynne has been living in Singapore since 2013, with her husband and two daughters. She understands that relationships, expat life and finding a work/life balance can, at times, be challenging. Lynne believes in the benefits of sport to promote positive mental health and the therapeutic power of nature; she volunteers as a netball coach for girls aged 6 – 14 years and has led treks for a local trekking club. She is passionate about inspiring and motivating her clients to achieve new goals and to realise their full potential.

As some of you may or may not be aware, we are currently running a parent referral programme! Any parent who refers a student who starts education in this school will receive $500*. Please do spread the word and tell your friends about our wonderful school. *The referred student must have paid the first month's school fees to qualify.

As we embrace our new chapter, it feels fitting in line with our student voice ethos to hand over the transition to Shayne, our resident student poet, who quite simply could not have put it better.

A New Chapter The paragraph of Perse is ending, the words of my 3 years here are finally finishing off, it's time to say goodbye, time to start a new chapter, a new page, a new writing.

The pictures of this school are sewn nicely onto my brain, so are the teachers and friends.

Thank you for being the hand that guides the pen to write, thank you for being the book cover that protects its pages, thank you for being the adjectives making my sentences livelier, thank you for everything.

We are very excited to announce that Invictus uniforms will be available at Lim's Uniforms from December 6th, 2023. The uniform voucher will entitle the bearer to receive: 2 Polo-shirts 2 grey shorts or skorts 1 PE kit (PE short and House shirt) 1 bucket hat or cap Please note that the Invictus uniform requires students to wear black shoes and white socks and we will be enforcing this closely from 1st January 2023 (Please note shoes and not trainers/VAN's etc) There is also an optional Invictus hooded sweatshirt ($49.00) for purchase at Lim's.

However, you may purchase last year's design (uniform compliant) from us for $25 .

All other hooded sweatshirts will not be permitted in school.
