Eco-Schools Green Flag

This year, The Perse proudly earned the EcoSchools Green Flag Award with Distinction, at both the Upper School and the Prep, thanks to the hard work of the Green Team (Upper) and the Eco Team (Prep).

Eco-entrepreneurs visit The Perse to speak to students
Robert Fryers (OP 2005) returned to The Perse to give an insightful 42 Lecture on his revolutionary pest control system. Spotta, launched in 2017, uses AI to dramatically reduce the use of pesticides and the level of CO₂ produced.
The ‘42 Lectures’ series features a range of topics from guest speakers each term.

SOLAR PANELS
We seek to improve existing buildings as well as ensuring new buildings are sustainable.
A new solar farm has been installed on the roof of the science block.

Singaporean students teamed up with Perse pupils in ecodesign challenge
School of Science and Technology
Singapore collaborated with the Upper in a product design challenge combining originality, style, functionality and sustainability.

Thoughtprovoking Perse Pelican Show
Year 1 Perse Pelican pupils staged a marvellous musical performance of Eddie the Penguin Saves the World. The hero of the tale went on a global mission with his family to highlight the importance of protecting the environment.


Eco-entrepreneurs visit The Perse to speak to students

Paul Naylor (OP 1979) gave a talk to students on his underwater photography, used to highlight the importance of looking after the marine environment and raise awareness of the issues facing coastal creatures.

Enhancing wildlife on site
The Grounds & Gardens Team maintains extensive flower beds and wild no-mow areas on the school site to promote biodiversity.



Sustainable Buildings
New building projects in the School are undertaken with energy efficiency and environmental impact being included as top priorities. The new sports centre is on track to achieve a BREEAM ‘excellent’ accreditation, including achieving maximum credits for water efficiency.
