Anglican Church’s response to poverty and inequality in southern Africa. The NGO has been working with Bishops to help with a recovery and rebuilding plan for the country that include meeting immediate needs. The school is also involved in other projects at Athwood. “On Tuesdays, we donate fruit and sandwiches, and the stationery is only once a year. thwood Primary School in Hanover Park received a welcome donation of stationery from Bishops Preparatory School in Rondebosch on Tuesday 4 February. The partnership between the two schools has been in place for more than six years. “The donation is from the boys and parents, which was a civvies day collection. We asked the boys to bring some new stationery and brought it here to be handed over to the principal, Evan Petersen,” says Delene Mark of Hope Africa. Hope Africa is a non-profit organisation (NPO)) created as the

Academy in Langa, St Pauls Primary in Schotsche Kloof, some creches in Langa, a few orphanages, the Community Chest and animal shelters. We have not really quantified any donations unless it is cash as in the case of the refurbishing of the toilets at St Pauls,” she says. The Vusa Rugby Academy is a NGO that brings about social upliftment for under-privileged children through sports. Petersen says: “The donation of the stationery is a burden lifted for parents and learners for the second term. More food will be on the table as there won’t be any stress about buying stationery again.”
