Ik volg een BBL opleiding waar ik vier dagen in de week bij een leerbedrijf mag draaien en één dag in de week naar school moet voor mijn talen. Je ontvangt gasten achter de receptie. Wat voor vragen krijg je zoal op een dag? Achter de receptie wordt je werkelijk álles gevraagd. Van de plek van het toilet tot en met een offerte voor een complete bruiloft. Juist al die verschillende vragen maken het leuk. Het team bij The Penthouse is internationaal, net als de bezoekers. Wat is je eigen achtergrond? Denk je dat je vanuit je eigen cultuur gasten anders behandelt? Ik ben in Nederland geboren maar mijn achtergrond is Turks. Ik hoop dat ik vanuit mijn eigen achtergrond gasten extra gastvrij ontvang. Dat zit absoluut in onze cultuur. Het is geweldig als er Turkse toeristen op bezoek komen, dan ben ik extra trots op de toren! Wat is het leukste aan The Penthouse en de Toren ? Het leukste aan de Haagse Toren is juist dat internationale team. Dat maakt het nòg specialer hier.

Why did you join the team at The Penthouse? My Dutch teacher applied for me through our schools’ learning programme. My study combined four days a week of in-company training and one day of language training at school. What kind of questions do you receive working at the reception desk? At reception we are asked a wide range of questions. Ranging from “Where are the toilets?” to “Can you give me a quote for a wedding?”. It is this variety that makes it such fun! The Penthouse team is truly international. What’s your cultural background? Do you treat guests accordingly? I was born in Holland, but have a Turkish background. I like to think that because of my background I am more hospitable and open – that’s deﬁnitely part of my culture! I am extra proud of the tower when welcoming Turkish tourists. What’s the best thing about The Penthouse? The international team – that is what makes working here so special.
