Brantford Bulldog Rookie named Jake O’Brien named to Team Canada for U17 World Hockey Challenge

Canadian Hockey League Media Release - The Brantford Bulldogs are extremely proud to see our own rookie forward Jake O’Brien named to Team Canada Red for the 2023 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge!

O’Brien was selected by the Bulldogs in the 1st Round, 8th overall in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection Draft from the Toronto Jr. Canadiens of the GTHL where he captained his JRC squad to both the GTHL & OHL Cup Championships, being named OHL Cup MVPin the process Already showing his incredible hockey intellect & offensive prowess at the OHL, O’Brien has been nothing short of outstanding to open his rookie season in Brantford Recording 2 goals & 4 assists for 6 points in 9 games, O’Brien has already become a staple of the Bulldogs offense, including the top power-play unit. The third 8th overall pick in Bulldogs history, O’Brien continues to follow the legacy paved before him joining the previous pair of Matthew Strome & Ryan Winterton in being named to Team Canada for the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge

O’Brien will also reunite with Kitchener Rangers selection and former JRC’s teammate Luca Romano with Team Red.
