Well, what would this column be without at least a few fall suggestions for tasty festive beer? After your eerie escapades, or if you are walking about, why not warm up with some festive fall and pumpkin beers from local Ontario breweries? There's no better way to round off a night of Halloween haunts than with a locally brewed pint of seasonal cheer

Whitewater Brewing Co has a Pumpkin Spice Espresso Porter with a rich coffee flavour and a sprinkle of 'pumpkin spice' flavour (clove, cinnamon and ginger). It is Smooth, subtle and comforting and a perfect match for your hallowe'en night Available at the LCBO

Great Lakes Brewery has been making their Pumpkin Ale for many years now and probably one of the first I ever tried and still a favourite today Brewed with locally grown pumpkin and subtle additions of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and allspice. Its bready and spiced pumpkin pie aromas are followed by a smooth, rounded and malty palate. It's great and available at the LCBO.

Big Rig Brewery also offers a pumpkin porter, which they too have been making for years It comes in a cool glow-in-the-dark can and handpicked pumpkins are used to make this fall delight. It is dark brown in colour with aromas of pumpkin, nutmeg, cola and cinnamon. Flavours of brown sugar, root beer and vanilla lead to a full-bodied and flavourful palate ending with a rich and creamy finish. Also available at the LCBO it is a true treat and a tradition for me to drink while carving my pumpkins

Lake of Bays and Flying Monkeys both also have pumpkin themed beer available or if you are looking for something stronger you can't go wrong with spiced rum this time of year!
