COMMUNITY NEWS St. George Apple Fest Volunteers honoured Three volunteers of St. George Apple Fest were recently honoured for their outstanding and continuous service to the award-winning festival. They were presented with pins and official certificates from the Ontario Honours and Awards Secretariat of the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism at a ceremony on Thursday, October 12th at the Best Western Hotel in Brantford. Pictured from left to right are Wayne Roorda, President of St. George Apple Fest, 15 year award; Liz McClay, Vendor Committee Chair, St. George Apple Fest, 10 year award; Joe Monteiro, Logistics Chair, St. George Apple Fest, 10 year award; Milan Novakovic representing MPP Will Bouma The St. George Apple Fest is dependent on volunteers for the festival to be successful. There is a group that works year-round to plan and organize the event. Then there are many who volunteer their time during the festival to make it a success. A community that volunteers together grows together. Submitted Photo
