On November 29th the County of Brant raised the Wrapped in Courage flag to show support and bring awareness to end gender-based violence in our community. The Wrapped in Courage campaign has adopted the purple scarf as its symbol.

This week, County of Brant Council voted unanimously to declare gender-based violence and/or intimate partner violence an epidemic and to demand action from all levels of government.

Councillor Jennifer Kyle brought forward the recommendation, noting more than 72 municipalities and regions across Ontario have declared this an epidemic. Members of Nova Vita Brant, County of Brant Council and the public attended the flag-raising to show support for this important issue in our community.
