Medals of Maple awarded to local youth
Earlier this week, Scouter Adam pictured on the far left of the 1st Paris Scouting Group, had the honour of awarding two Medals of the Maple, one to Marlee Cushing pictured in the photo on the right and also Zack Bennett not shown. The Medal of the Maple is for Distinguished Youth Service is an award created by the members of the National Youth Network (Scouts Canada), designed to honour those youth who have contributed to the Scouting Movement and the spirit of Scouting through community service, extraordinary Scouting participation, and a solid system of personal values. In a social media post this week, Leaders commented: “We are proud of all our youth and how they serve our group and the community.” Recipients were presented A certificate signed by the National Commissioner, National Youth Commissioner & Executive Commissioner and CEO of Scouts Canada, a Cloth emblem and Medal on red and white striped emblem. Also Monday, February 19th the County is allowing 1st Paris Scouting and Guiding to raise their flags at the County office again this year
