County of Brant recognized as one of Ontario’s top communities for 2023 Culture Days
County of Brant, ON – The County of Brant is delighted to share that it has been chosen as a top 10 community for the 2023 Ontario Culture Days, ranking 3rd for Top Rural/Small Town.
“We are so pleased with the success of our first Brant Celebrates Culture Days,” said County of Brant Mayor David Bailey. “The County of Brant's inclusion in the top 3 for small towns is a testament to our dedication to promoting and celebrating the arts across Brant, and also reflects the passion and creativity of our residents.” Culture Days is a national celebration each fall where individuals and groups across Canada are encouraged to celebrate arts, culture and heritage in their communities. The County of Brant celebrated Ontario Culture Days with its inaugural Brant Celebrates Culture Days, an initiative that focused on highlighting arts and culture throughout our communities. Brant Celebrates Culture Days was held from September 23 to October 16, 2023 and featured 34 events presented by local groups and creators.

The County of Brant provided funding to assist eligible organizers to cover the cost of hosting an event. This funding allowed for more groups and creators to participate. Mayor David Bailey contributed funds from his 2023 budget and will reallocate again for 2024. “We would like to thank Mayor Bailey for supporting and assisting in funding for the first Brant Celebrates Culture Days,” said Kayla Cicman, County of Brant’s Arts, Culture and Heritage
Over 1,000 people visited a total of 34 events County wide to celebrate Brant Culture Days. Events ranged from heritage scavenger hunts to artistic talent on display and even some day long musical performances and more.
