JACKSON, JR.
MEDARYVILLE, IN - John Paul Jackson, Jr., 63, died Saturday, April 19, 2025. He was born February 19, 1962 in Knox, Indiana to the late John “Jake” Jackson, Sr. and Kathleen “Kathy” Owens. On April 18, 1992, he married Darcy J. Mason.
John enjoyed farming and driving semi-trucks, spending time with his family and hosting a 4th of July party every year.
He is survived by his wife, Darcy, three children: Kevin (Nichol) Jackson, Sarah Jackson and Andrew Jackson, four grandchildren and five siblings: Brenda (Darrin) Messer, Cheryl (Rob) Beiswanger, Duane Jackson, Jeremy (Jessica) Jackson and Timmy (Katie) Jackson.
Services were held Saturday, April 26 at the O’Donnell Funeral Home. Burial was in the Independence Cemetery in Medaryville (Bailey’s Corner, Indiana)
Donations may be made to the family to help with final expenses.

LINDA SUE JACOBS
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, MI - Linda Sue Jacobs, 68, died Monday, April 21, 2025. She was born November 22, 1956 in Knox, Indiana to the late Floyd and Inez (Osborn) Earnest.
Linda loved gardening, flowers, thrift stores, on-line puzzle games and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons: David Trusty of Missouri and Brandon Jacobs of Michigan, her twin sister, Brenda McDaniel of Knox and three brothers: Larry and Steve Earnest, both of Knox and Mike Earnest of New Carlisle, Indiana. She was preceded in death by siblings: Floyd Jr., Terry and Peggy Earnest.
Graveside services were held Monday, April 28, at Round Lake Cemetery in Knox.
Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.
JOE W. KESTLE
WINAMAC, IN - Joe W. Kestle, 68, died Tuesday, April 22, 2025. He was born September 17, 1956 in Knox, Indiana to the late James M. and Carol A. (Downey) Kestle. Joe was a 1976 graduate of Winamac High School, where he was a champion wrestler. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Winamac, where he sang in the church choir. He worked at Wilson Foods in Logansport, Indiana and Monon Trailer in Monon, Indiana before retiring from The Braun Corporation (BraunAbility) in 2024 after 39 years. He was proud to be a member of the “Quarter Century Club” at Braun’s. He was an avid gardener and fisherman. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by two daughters: Magdalena Jo (Jason) Hershman of Medaryville, Indiana and Emily Jean Kestle of Winamac, four grandchildren, two brothers: Alan (Robin) Kestle and Michael (Sherry) Kestle of Winamac and one sister, Arlene (Todd) McAchren of Monticello, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his step mother, Clara Mae (Good) Kestle and grandmother, Cletha (Lane) Kestle. Services were held Friday, April 25 at Frain Mortuary. Entombment will take place at Tippecanoe Cemetery in Winamac at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
SHARON LEA ARNETT CAUDILL
KNOX, IN - Sharon Lea Arnett Caudill, 80, died Tuesday, April 22, 2025 in Knox, Indiana. She was born March 3, 1945 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Callie and Mattie (Coldiron) Arnett. On June 27, 1970 in Knox, she married Larry Caudill. He died October 7, 2006. Sharon was a member of the Little Dove Baptist Church. She enjoyed going out to eat, attending church and spending time with her church family and her family. She had worked at American Rubber in La Porte, Indiana.
She is survived by one sister, Julie (Ron) Haug of Knox. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Mikel and Joe Arnett.
Services were held Monday, April 28, at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel. Burial was in the Round Lake Cemetery in Knox. Memorials may be made to the Little Dove Baptist Church. Arrangements were made by Braman & Son Memorial Chapel in Knox.
BESSIE ALICE MANN
WHITE PIGEON, MI - FORMERLY
OF KNOX, IN - Bessie Alice Mann, 80, died Tuesday, April 22, 2025 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born September 12, 1944 in Knox, Indiana to the late Silas Haddix and Helen (Frazier) Marshall.
Bessie enjoyed playing Bingo, going to yard sales, riding the pontoon boat, sitting by the river and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son, Mike Mann of Three Rivers, Michigan, two daughters: Patricia Rice of Three Rivers and Bobbie Herrmann of Constantine, Michigan, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one sister, May Joseph of Knox and one brother, Larry Haddix of Indiana. She was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Mann and one brother, Roy Farris. Graveside services were held Saturday, April 26 at the Oak Park Cemetery in Knox. Memorials may be made to the family.

JAMES M. DOWLING
WINAMAC, IN - FORMERLY OF HOPKINSVILLE, KY - James M. “Jim” Dowling, 77, died Monday, April 14, 2025 at Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac, Indiana. He was born September 10, 1947, in Adrian, Michigan to the late Dennis and Irene (Bixler) Downling.
While in college at Purdue University, Jim joined the US Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He then returned to Purdue and earned a Bachelor’s Degree. He had worked at White Hydraulics in Hopkinsville for several years.
He is survived by siblings: Gerald “Jerry” (Carol) Dowling, Denise (Yolanda Baldwin) Dowling and Deelight (Richard) Murphy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna (Self) Dowling.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 12 at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to your local American Legion or VFW.
Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

JAMES E. BERON
KNOX, IN - James E. “Jim” Beron, 82, died Tuesday, April 22, 2025 in Knox, Indiana. He was born May 29, 1942 in La Porte, Indiana tot he late Willard Beron and Marie (Stickley) Hardesty. On November 21, 1970 in Knox, he married Patricia Murphy. Jim was a member of the Hamlet American Legion and the Hamlet Lions Club. He was a US Army veteran having been stationed in Korea. He was a past member of the Crown Hill Cemetery Board and a member of the US Standard Breed Association for Harness Racing. He enjoyed baling hay, racing horses, collecting antique tractors and spending time with his family. He was a huge Bobby Knight and Oregon Davis Girls and Boys basketball fan. He had worked for Ford Motor Company and owned a barber shop.
He is survived one son, Mike (Sonja) Beron and one daughter, Kathy Beron, both of Knox, one granddaughter and siblings: Beverly Beron Ault of Plymouth, Indiana, Max (Theda) Hardesty of Knox, John (Brie) Hardesty of Koontz Lake, Indiana and Karen Hardesty Stone of Hamlet, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia and his step father, Lyman Max Hardesty.
Services were held Friday, April 25 at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating. Burial was in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox. Memorials may be made to the Starke County Freedom Riders.

RICHARD GEORGE BURIANEK
NORTH JUDSON, IN -Richard George Burianek, 89, died Wednesday, April 16, 2025. He was born May 26, 1935 in La Porte, Indiana. On October 7, 1978, in North Judson, he married Rebecca Baker.
Richard worked at Thermo-Products in North Judson for 47 years. He served in the Army Reserve and the enlisted in Active Duty Air Force, serving as a weatherman. He was an avid bicyclist and enjoyed scenic views from cars and motorcycles. He especially loved trains as a hobbist and created scenic train layouts and models throughout his lifetime.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca, one son, Alan Burianek and one sister, Joan Medesi. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Blanche Burianek.
He will be interred at Highland Cemetery in North Judson.
Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. in North Judson.
EDWARD J. BUCKMAN
WINAMAC, IN - Edward J. Buckman, 82, died Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Hickory Creek in Winamac. He was born June 10, 1942 in Glen Burnie, Maryland to the late William and Frances (Vacek) Buckman.
Private entombment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland.
