FRANCESVILLE, IN - Patricia Sue
“Patty” Knebel, 63, died Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born January 13, 1962 in Knox, Indiana to Gail William and Shirley Ann (Podell) Knebel.
Patty attended West Central High School and later earned a GED. She worked for nearly 20 years at Donaldson’s in Rensselaer, Indiana. She was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. She loved her family very much. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her mother, Shirley Ann Knebel of Francesville, one sister, Melinda (George) Scheffer of Francesville and two brothers: Jim Knebel of Winamac, Indiana and Bob (Katie) Knebel of Noblesville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her father, Gail William Knebel and two siblings: Cindy Lou Knebel and David Knebel.
Visitation from 11am-2pm EDT on Wednesday, September 24 at Frain Mortuary with services starting at 2pm EDT with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating. Burial will be in the Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition). Memorials may be made to Parkview Health Foundation or Pulaski Health Foundation.
Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
MM1 RANDY EUGENE REINHOLD
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - FORMERLY OF WINAMAC, IN - MM1 Randy Eugene Reinhold US Navy, Ret., 65, died Wednesday, August 6, 2025. He was born January 25, 1960 in Knox, Indiana to the late Donald Vernon and Ruby Doris (Sprayberry) Reinhold.
Randy was a 1979 graduate of Winamac High School. He proudly served our country for 20 plus years in the US Navy. After retirement, he worked for several companies in the Virginia Beach area. He enjoyed helping anyone he could. He was an avid die hard Colts and Pacers fan. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda (Nanry), one daughter, Christina Brown, two sons: Randy W. Reinhold and Joseph Nanry, all of Virginia Beach, many grandchildren and two brothers: Anthony V. Reinhold of Valparaiso, Indiana and Dr. Greg Reinhold of King George, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gerri Reinhold.
Graveside services will be held at 3:30pm EDT on Friday, September 26 at the Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition). Memorials may be made to Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society or in Randy’s honor, become an organ donor. Local arrangements were made to Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
RANDY LEE GIBSON
KNOX, IN - Randy Lee “Hooter” Gibson, 71, died Thursday, September 18, 2025 in Knox, Indiana. He was born August 22, 1954 in Gary, Indiana to the late Shelby and Bonnie (Buhr) Gibson. Randy was a member of the Fish Lake Bass Masters club. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. He worked as a utility worker for NIPSCO and was a US Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen, three sons: Matthew (Toni) Gibson and Kyle (Alonso) Rey, both of South Bend, Indiana and Shelby (Aleshia) Gibson of Winamac, Indiana, seven grandchildren and siblings: Edward (Charlotte) Bundy of California, Russell Gibson of San Antonio, Texas, Barbara (Kirk) Lewis of Tarpon Springs, Florida and Shannon (Rick) Evans of Hanna, Indiana. No services will be held.
Arrangements were made by Braman & Son Memorial Chapel in Knox.
NANCY J. DEMBOWSKI
KNOX, IN - Nancy J. Dembowski, age 91, died at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, September 15, 2025. She was born August 14, 1934 in Laporte, Indiana to the late Jesse Clabaugh Jr. and Dorothy (Demont) Clabaugh Teske. She married Edward Dembowski on August 16, 1952, he preceded her in death on March 17, 1995.
Nancy was very active in the community having started at W.K.V.I Radio in 1971 as a secretary, eventually becoming an onair personality and reporter. She also had a long and prosperous political career starting with being elected as the very first female Starke County Councilperson serving from 1985-1992, she served as Mayor of Knox from 1992-2002, as Indiana State Senator from 20022004, and in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2006-2012, she was selected as a delegate to the 2012 Democrat National Convention. She spent countless hours serving on boards, committees and organizations too numerous to mention them all.
She is survived by her children, Michael Dembowski of Knox, Rebecca Czarnecki of Knox, and Patrick Dembowski of Muncie, her three brothers, Tommy Clabaugh of Louisiana, Terry Clabaugh of Crown Point, and Daniel Clabaugh of Nevada, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Jay Clabaugh and two grandsons, Connor Dembowski and Ryan Greer.
A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 1:00pm (CT) at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox.

EDYTHE J. JOHNSON
KOKOMO, IN - FORMERLY OF KNOX, IN - Edythe J. Johnson, age 93, died Wednesday, September 17, 2025. She was born March 25, 1932 in Knightstown, Indiana to the late Ora L. Davis and Hazel (DeCourcey) Davis.
Edythe loved attending church and singing in the choir, making arts and crafts, and watching NASCAR races.
She is survived by her sons, William A. Tompkins of Middleton, Ohio, David W. Tompkins of Knox, Indiana and John L. Tompkins of Tipton, Indiana, ten grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and a sister, Sandra Hotzel of New Castle, Indiana. She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony A. Tompkins, a sister, Betty Trusty and a brother, Bob Davis.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Burial was in the Oak Park Cemetery in Knox.
